M5 EV&#8217;s design is very aerodynamical, its drag coefficient is only 0.266 cd. It has a 79.93-kWh battery pack, enough to give this vehicle a CLTC range of 552 kilometers.

2021 Tesla Model S Plaid is the newest Tesla luxury electric sedan, available to order right now. The fastest vehicle Tesla ever built comes with the new tri-motor powertrain. It costs around $130,000 in United States and comes with 1,020 horsepower, 1.424 Nm torque, 100 kWh huge battery pack, 0 to 60 miles per hour performance under two seconds, in-car computer capable of running latest video games and high-level autonomous driving capability thanks to the Autopilot mode and FSD -Full Self Driving- features.

All the window trims and door handles are black now instead of chrome on the earlier models. Only the front and back Tesla logos still have the chrome finish. It has wider tires covered with even wider fenders. The fog lights matched with the Model 3 and Model Y. Front bumper lips and back bumper diffuser changed as well. Additionally, first 25 Model S Plaid delivered have a special Plaid badge logo on the back. Rest of the cars delivered will just be coming with a simple “Plaid” text.

Tesla Model S Plaid can also complete a ¼ mile run in 9.23 seconds.

Chinese electric vehicle brands are a top priority at Licarco because the EV market has become increasingly dominated by pure electric Chinese cars. Last year, China sold more EVs than the rest of the world. BYD, NIO, ORA, and Geely are some of the biggest Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers.
Even though China has been producing millions of EVs for years, American drivers wouldn&#8217;t be able to buy one. It&#8217;s because vehicles made in China are subjected to a %27.5 import tariff in the US. Due to heavy taxation, Chinese brands had not prioritized the US auto market in their global plans. But that&#8217;s changing quickly, as more and more Chinese EV marques are expanding their reach towards western markets, including United States.
In this article, we gathered a list of Chinese EV brands and their expansion plans. We will update this post when an announcement is made regarding any Chinese EV maker&#8217;s global expansion.

Leapmotor, an emerging EV brand backed by Dahua Technology, has plans to enter the European market in 2023. The brand officials confirmed that Leapmotor would open showrooms in Europe. To finance its globalization plans, Hangzhou-based carmaker filed its first IPO that worths around $1.5bn at Hong Kong Exchange.
The brand has already started to sell electric vehicles in Turkey and Israel, starting with the compact hatchback called <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.licarco.com/leapmotor-t03" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Leapmotor T03</a>. The first EV to be showcased in Europe will probably be the electric sedan C01. With its sleek design, cell-to-chassis technology, and impressive performance figures, <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.licarco.com/leapmotor-c01" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Leapmotor C01</a> will attract a lot of customers.

BYD first entered Norway with the full-size electric SUV called <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.licarco.com/2022-byd-tang-ev" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tang EV</a>. Over the next months, China&#8217;s biggest EV manufacturer will start selling vehicles all over the world. BYD EVs are already available in Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. European countries where BYD will start operations before the end of 2022 are the United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, and Sweden.
BYD will export these three electric vehicle models to Old Continent; compact electric SUV <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.licarco.com/byd-atto-3" target="_blank" rel="noopener">BYD Atto 3</a>, electric sedan <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.licarco.com/2022-byd-han-ev" target="_blank" rel="noopener">BYD Han EV</a>, and BYD Tang EV. India, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam will also be subject to BYD&#8217;s global expansion, as official statements confirmed.
Unfortunately, BYD has no plans to enter the American market yet. But there is a possibility of Chinese EV maker using its new premium brand, which reportedly will deliver a $145K+ luxury EV to the market, to attract customers from United States.

NIO is one of the first Chinese automakers, which officially confirms its entry into the US market. NIO-branded EVs will be on sale in the US starting in 2025. Large-size SUV ES8 is currently being tested on US roads. There is no official timeline for the US launch, though.
Chinese EV marque will also start selling EVs in Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. The next move on the global plans is to enter more European markets such as Austria, Belgium, France, Hungary, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Portugal, and the Czech Republic. NIO is hoping to sell electric vehicles in 25 countries by 2025.

In February 2022, Xpeng opened its first showroom in Stockholm, Sweden. Guangzhou-based company will start selling EVs in Denmark, Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden before the year ends. The company&#8217;s first offering will be the mid-range electric sedan <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.licarco.com/xpeng-p5-600p" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Xpeng P5</a>.
Xpeng expects half of its electric vehicle sales in 2025 to come from outside of China. Europe is its first choice but customers from the US will eventually get a taste of Xpeng&#8217;s popular cars in the near future. Chinese brand signed a dealership agreement with a Turkish company to sell EVs in Turkey as well. The first vehicle to be put on sale in Turkey will be <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.licarco.com/xpeng-p7-4wd-high-performance" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Xpeng P7</a>.

Geely is a global automotive group. There are brands under the Geely Group that sell vehicles all over the world. Zeekr will be joining those brands next year by entering the European market. EV-only brand will make it official in early 2023, as Zeekr announced.
Zeekr has only one model on sale called Zeekr 001, but it has plans to launch a total of seven EVs by 2025. Its 2025 sales goal in Europe is 100,000 vehicles. There is no word whether Zeekr will sell EVs in Scandinavia, western/or eastern Europe. Follow us for more details.

Great Wall Motors (GWM) has officially entered the United Kingdom and Germany with its EV-only brand ORA. GWM introduced the first vehicles to be put on sale in Europe earlier this year. <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.licarco.com/ora-cat-64-kwh" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ORA Cat/Funky Cat</a> is the first one for the western market.
The company appoints Emil Frey to distribute vehicles starting in Germany. That is not the first time GWM to choose Germany for its global expansion. Chinese automaker&#8217;s battery division SVOLT opened a battery plant in Germany as well. Recently SVOLT announced its second investment worth €2.0bn, which would enable them to produce lithium-ion battery cells directly in the country.

Li Auto is relatively late to the EV party, as their first choice of vehicle type is extended-range electric vehicles (EREV). BT The company will launch its first pure-electric model sometime next year. There are also plans for a possible production site in Europe.
Beijing-based automaker will be looking for partnerships to start selling EVs in Europe as soon as next year. No official info regarding which countries will get to buy Li Auto EREVs yet.

You can even use a game controller for better experience. A couple of games will also require you to connect a controller to play.
In this article, we created a guide to help you easily connect your Xbox controller to your Tesla Model 3/Y.
<h2>A Complete Guide to Connecting an Xbox Controller to Tesla Model 3/Y</h2>
If you want to play games with an Xbox controller on your Tesla, use a data cable (not a charge-only USB cable that lacks the data transfer function) to plug your controller into your Tesla Model 3/Y&#8217;s main screen via the USB-C ports in the center console or the USB-A port in the glove box. If you prefer a wireless connection, or your controller cannot be connected to your Tesla via cable, just follow our guide down below.
Step 1. Buy a wireless adapter/dongle for pairing your Xbox controller. <a href="https://amzn.to/3HCaTTv">8Bitdo Wireless USB Adapter 2</a> and <a href="https://amzn.to/3jyyigK">MAYFLASH Magic NS 2</a> are two of the most popular choices.
Step 2. Plug the wireless adapter into your Tesla via USB data ports. Use a USB-A to USB-C adapter if necessary. Please be aware that newer Model 3/Y vehicles don&#8217;t have USB data ports in the center console. You will need to use the USB-A port inside the glove compartment.
Step 3. Put your wireless adapter into pairing mode. 8Bitdo&#8217;s pairing button is on the bottom, whereas the Magic NS&#8217;s pairing mode can be activated by pressing the black button on the side until the light goes green and blinks fast.

Step 4. In order to put your controller into pairing mode, first press the Xbox button for one second until it lights up. Then, press and hold the circular pair button located on the back of the controller for three seconds.
Step 5. Once the wireless adapter and Xbox controller ared paired up, the lights on both of these devices will stop blinking. You will see a notification message on your Tesla&#8217;s screen that confirms the pairing.

Regenerative braking technology is a bliss for the efficiency of <a href="https://www.licarco.com/cars">all-electric vehicles</a>. But it takes time to get used to this helpful feature. Sometimes it gets annoying or makes no sense on some occasions. There is an option to turn it off, but things get complicated with <a href="https://www.licarco.com/news/how-many-tesla-cars-have-been-sold">Tesla vehicles</a>. Let us explain.
If you want to turn off regenerative braking on your Tesla, you probably won&#8217;t find any disabling option in the menu. Because turning off regenerative braking is not possible on a Tesla. It is also impossible to adjust the regen on Tesla vehicles built since Q2 2020. Tesla Model S/3/X/Y vehicles built before that date can still be able to offer adjustments. You just need to navigate through the main screen and go to Driving, then change the &#8216;Regenerative Braking&#8217; to &#8216;Low&#8217; for reducing the level of regenerative braking.
Newer Tesla vehicles come with standard level regen as default. There is no &#8216;Regenerative Braking&#8217; adjustment option anymore. So, why wouldn&#8217;t Tesla allow its drivers to adjust regenerative braking? The main reason is that the vehicle range is heavily affected by not being able to recuperate the energy you otherwise lost to heat, etc by pressing the brake pedal. Other automakers agree with Tesla as well. If you drive a Tesla vehicle built before Q2 2022, your car&#8217;s main screen comes with an option to adjust regenerative braking. If you live in a cold area or your battery is fully charged, your Tesla vehicle would warn you about the regenerative braking is being limited. That&#8217;s because the battery is unable to receive the energy from the regen system and the battery&#8217;s management system temporarily turns off the regenerative braking feature. It might take up to half an hour for your vehicle to recover from that. In order to reduce the negative effects of this limitation, you can enable an extra feature for automatically applying the brake pedals instead of regen braking. Just go to Controls &gt; Pedals &amp; Steering, then turn on the &#8216;Apply Brakes When Regenerative Braking is Limited&#8217; option.

Not being able to turn off regenerative braking might sound dangerous on icy/snowy roads, but Tesla has a solution for this. Leapmotor T03 is a small-size electric hatchback first hit the market in May 2020. It is the second EV that Dahua-backed EV start-up built and launched. Efficiency in ordinary gasoline and diesel engines varies between 20% and 40%. In other words, almost only 1/5 of the fuel can affect the movement of the vehicle. However, the efficiency rate rises above 90% in electric motors.
The highly efficient electric motors need several times less energy for the same exertion compared to the equivalent gasoline/diesel vehicles. In the 2022 CEO Investor Forum, Hyundai Motor Group has laid out the electrification strategy for the next decade. The company will produce 17 new BEV models and invest $80 billion in hardware and software technologies with this strategy. In the recent press release, Jaehoon Chang, the CEO, shared its updated plan and the steps of its strategy during the virtual 2022 CEO Investor Day. Hyundai Motor Company aims to sell 1.87 million BEVs each year till 2030 and plans to build a new BEV production facility to increase the production capacity. Korean Company will also develop technologies for the next-generation batteries to maximize efficiency. Another step of the new strategy will be the introduction of an Integrated Modular Architecture (IMA) in 2025.
The company will invest almost $80 million in new technologies to pursue sustainability and to increase competitiveness in connectivity and autonomous driving.

The Korean carmaker will launch eleven Hyundai and six Genesis BEV models in the next decade. New Hyundai BEVs will be three sedan models, six SUVs, one light commercial vehicle, and one “new type model”. Ioniq 6 will be on market in 2022 and Ioniq 7 in 2024.

The most exciting announcement during the 2022 CEO Investor Forum is the new modular platform which will debut in 2025. The new Integrated Modular Architecture (IMA) will be the evolved version of the electric global platform (E-GMP), which will be on the market with Hyundai vehicles like the <a href="https://www.licarco.com/hyundai-ioniq-5-long-range-awd/">Ioniq 5</a>, <a href="https://www.licarco.com/kia-ev6-gt/">Kia EV6</a>, and <a href="https://www.licarco.com/genesis-gv60-performance/">Genesis GV60</a>.
The Korean carmaker elaborated that the IMA will be developed to standardize the chassis, battery system, and motor. Its innovative architecture will improve the driving range and be used for BEVs in all segments.
The existing BEV development system of the company has different types of battery packs for each model; however, the IMA will allow equipping standardized battery packs and motors for all models, which increases cost-efficiency.  Its cell-to-pack system will allow this new architecture to be able to achieve enough energy density and decrease the charging time.

Hyundai to launch 17 new BEVs as part of the $80 billion electrification plan

Volvo announced plans to roll out an autonomous driving service called Ride Pilot to customers in California, United States. The autopilot feature will make its debut in a fully electric SUV which will replace the brand&#8217;s large SUV XC90. It is expected to go sale before the year ends.
Ride Pilot feature is developed by Volvo engineers in collaboration with the self-driving software developer <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.zenseact.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Zenseact</a> and the LiDAR technology company Luminar. Volvo will offer this promising feature as a subscription for its customers in California sometime this year.
The autonomous tech that will be offered by the Swedish automaker will meet the requirements of industry standards for level 3 autonomous driving. The drivers who use the service won&#8217;t need to keep their hands on the steering wheel or keep their eyes on the road, confirmed by Volvo&#8217;s Chief Technology Officer Henrik Green on Wednesday at the CES 2022.
<h2>Electric XC90 coming with Ride Pilot autonomous driving</h2>
Volvo&#8217;s upcoming electric SUV that features Ride Pilot will have a sensor suite of Luminar&#8217;s Iris LiDAR solution, eight cameras, 16 ultrasonic sensors, and five radars. That vehicle is going to replace the existing ICE model called Volvo XC90. It will be a full-size SUV, unlike smaller all-electric Volvos such as <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.licarco.com/volvo-xc40-recharge/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">XC40 Recharge</a>, and <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.licarco.com/volvo-c40-recharge/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">C40 Recharge</a>. 
The autonomous driving service will be offered as a subscription for the yet-to-be-named electric XC90. Customers will pay monthly or annually for the autopilot feature. Volvo probably won&#8217;t offer a lump sum payment for the Ride Pilot, unlike Tesla&#8217;s $10,000 FSD (Full Self Driving) package.

Volvo set to start selling its first autonomous vehicle this year

Sony is officially entering the electric vehicle business! During a press event at CES 2022 (Consumer Electronics Show), Sony confirmed that it will launch a new company called &#8216;Sony Mobility Inc.&#8216; this spring, through which it intends to develop smart car systems such as autonomous driving, sensor technologies, etc, and produce electric vehicles.
The Japanese tech giant also unveiled its new EV concept: <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.licarco.com/sony-vision-s-02/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sony VISION-S 02</a>. The new concept is an electric SUV, equipped with Sony&#8217;s latest sensor tech and an advanced autonomous driving system that allows some level of autonomy. That is not the first time that Sony has debuted a concept car. Sony showed its first VISION-S concept two years ago in the form of a beautifully designed electric sedan. CES visitors can find these two concept EVs at the Sony booth.
VISION-S 02 is a dual-motor all-wheel-drive SUV, can produce a whopping 544 horsepower. The max speed is capped at 180 km/h, though. In-car entertainment is the main focus of this concept. As a result, Sony generously stuffed seven displays into the car. The electric SUV has three touch displays positioned beneath the steering wheel, one for the gauge cluster, and the other two for the infotainment system. Even the passengers sitting at the rear have their own touchscreens for consuming more Sony content.

Sony is seriously considering its much-anticipated entry into the EV market. The VISION-S 02 concept will be one of the first Sony cars launched by the Japanese firm. It is expected to be launched sometime in 2023 after Sony Mobility Inc. is established.
Ever since the VISION-S 01 (the original Sony concept car) debuted at CES 2020, Sony denied its entry into the EV market multiple times. But today is the day for the Japanese company to admit its plans for the mobility sector. There is no 100% certainty that Sony will produce EVs. But it is a powerful sign that Sony is getting serious about the EV business. If Sony decides to go through with this plan, autonomy, and in-car entertainment will be two of its main selling points.
