Kia’s Huge Investment in Electric Commercial Vehicles!

Kia announced its PBV commercial vehicles will be produced on a new platform.

🟢South Korean automotive giant #Kia unveiled four fully electric commercial vehicles today at the CES 2024.

🏭Kia developed these vehicles on the new modular PBV (Platform Beyond Vehicle) platform. The company aims to be the market leader in electric commercial vehicles by 2030. Production will take place in the factory with a capacity of 150,000 units, which Kia started construction on the AutoLand Hwaseong campus in Korea last year.

🚚PV5, the first vehicle to be produced on the PBV platform, will enter mass production in 2025. The light commercial can be configured as both a cargo vehicle and a robotaxi. It will be followed by the compact urban delivery-oriented PV1.

🔋Kia PBV series are announced to have advanced connection features and operating systems to facilitate fleet management. It can be used in robotaxi services with autonomous driving hardware/software developed by the Hyundai-Aptiv partnership.
