It is stated that the electric robotaxi can travel on the route anywhere in the world as Level 4. That is completely driverless.

Japanese automobile manufacturer Toyota exhibited its first all-electric robotaxis at the China International Import Expo in Shanghai, China yesterday.

The robotaxi was developed on the basis of the bZ4X. The vehicle is also produced in China in cooperation with GAC Motor. It uses the software and hardware of the Chinese autonomous driving initiative Pony-ai, in which Toyota announced an investment of $ 400 million in 2020.

It is stated that the electric robotaxi can travel on a Level 4, in other words completely driverless, route anywhere in the world. Pony-ai already provides driverless taxi services in Beijing and Guangzhou.

Toyota, GAC Motor, and Pony-ai, which established a partnership with a capital of USD 140 million in August 2023, announced that they will work together to mass produce robotaxis and expand autonomous driving services. The autonomous bZ4X is expected to be customized and launched in line with this goal.
