<h2>Overview</h2>
BMW i4 is German carmaker’s first electric sedan coming to the market in November 2021. Base version of the vehicle called i4 eDrive 40 has a 340 HP rear electric motor and 80.7 kWh battery pack. It can go from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.7 seconds. On a single charge i4 can travel up to 590 kilometers in the WLTP cycle.
There is also a more powerful variant that will be available alongside the standard i4 called BMW i4 M50. It is the first M Performance series electric vehicle producing 544 horsepower and 795 Nm torque, thanks to its all-wheel drive dual motor drivetrain. i4 M50 uses the same 80.7 kWh battery and offers 510 kilometers of range. Performance oriented four-door saloon can reach 0 to 100 km/s in 3.9 seconds. Top speed is 225 km/h. Both variants of the BMW i4 can be charged with 200 kW DC plugs. It will take approx. half an hour to charge up vehicles from 10 to 80 percent.
Pricing of the BMW i4 is yet to be revealed. According to the news outlets, i4 eDrive 40 will probably be around $50,000, i4 M50 on the other hand will be priced much higher.
<h2>Performance</h2>
BMW i4 eDrive 40 is a rear-wheel drive single motor electric saloon. It produces 340 HP, 430 Nm torque, and top speed is 190 km/h. 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds. With this acceleration performance, eDrive 40 shows that it’s not an ordinary sedan.
The high-performance variant BMW i4 M50, however, is an all-wheel drive dual motor car. It has 544 horsepower, 795 Nm torque and electronically limited 225 km/h top speed. Acceleration performance is phenomenal, 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.
Combined energy consumption is 16 kWh/100 km and 19 kWh/100 km respectively for the two i4 variants.
<h2>Design and Features</h2>
Futuristic design of the vehicle is based on the iVision Dynamics concept unveiled in 2017. In order to improve aerodynamics, BMW’s iconic kidney grille closed all together. Automaker made use of this area by implementing cameras and sensors needed for the driving assist technologies.
Interior is very similar to i4’s electric SUV sibling BMW iX. Cured gauge cluster and infotainment display surround the driver. 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and 14.9-inch infotainment screen use the latest BMW operating system that supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto wirelessly, hand gestures, voice control, digital assistant etc.
Sitting position is not too high, thanks to tightly fitted battery pack underneath. Thus, being close to road and feeling the drive will not be an issue in this electric vehicle.

BMW i4 eDrive 40 and M50 both use the same 80.7 kWh battery pack. Electric sedans have a range of 590 km and 510 km, respectively. i4 does support 200 kW rate DC and 11 kW AC charging. With DC plugs, it can charge from 10 to 80 percent in 31 minutes, fully charging the vehicle with an AC unit will take 8.5 hours.

An electric car can sit for at least two months without charging. &#8211; Disable security mode, dog mode, etc. that might keep your car and its sensors awake.
&#8211; Do not use mobile apps connected to your car if it&#8217;s not necessary. By merely running those apps will wake your car&#8217;s systems and drain your battery even faster.
&#8211; Make sure that your battery level is above 50 percent. Tesla even suggests that you leave your electric car plugged in if you&#8217;re going to be absent for more than a few days. Other manufacturers recommend leaving your car&#8217;s battery at an average charge level, neither full nor lower than 50 percent.
&#8211; Turn off any preconditioning feature. These settings might start your car without you knowing and preheat the cabin and battery pack in cold temperatures.

Step 1. Pull over your Tesla and shift it into Park Mode.

The newest version of iDrive, BMW Operating System 8.5, which has a redesigned visual display with a clear start screen and QuickSelect access for straightforward touch operation, controls the BMW Curved Display. A high-voltage battery that has a combined useable capacity of 84.3 kilowatt-hours and is made up of 4 modules with 72 battery cells each and 3 modules with 12 cells each power both variations.
The battery allows a driving range of 256 miles for the i5 M60 xDrive or 295 miles for the i5 eDrive40 on standard 19-inch wheels. Based on the EPA&#8217;s test process guidelines, BMW estimates the range ratings.

Certain amenities that we were accustomed to seeing exclusively in luxury cars like the Mercedes S-Class and the BMW 7-Series are included in the ample kit of the Hyundai Grandeur. The multi-color ambient lighting within the cabin, which is connected to the digital cockpit and a number of the vehicle&#8217;s features, adds to the overall experience. Regrettably, due to waning interest in big sedans and the automaker&#8217;s intention to prevent sales of the Genesis lineup from being diluted, the Hyundai Grandeur / Azera will not be offered in the US. The Grandeur, which ranges in price from $29,175/ ₩37,850,000 to /$40,576₩52,640,000  depending on the trim and engine choices, is already available for purchase in South Korea.

The Cooper 3-door hatchback, which will be entirely electric and arrive in 2024, was revealed by MINI. The EV and its ICE-powered counterpart will be on sale together. However, the platforms for the two vehicles will differ.
Spotlight Automotive, a joint venture between Great Wall Motors and the BMW Group, created an EV-specific architecture on which the next MINI will run. According to Autocar, a single electric motor will provide 181 horsepower (135 kW/184 PS) in ordinary form and 215 horsepower (160 kW/218 PS) in the SE model. A JWC hot hatch with even more horsepower will release.
<h2>MINI Will Have Two Distinct Battery Sizes: 40 kWh and 54 kWh</h2>
There will be two distinct battery sizes. Each has a capacity of 40 kWh and 54 kWh, giving an electric range of at least 386 km/240 miles. The stated specifications are an upgrade over the previous MINI Cooper SE&#8217;s 181 horsepower (135 kW/184 PS) and 235 km/144 miles of range from a 32.6 kWh battery.
The vehicle maintains its predecessors&#8217; three-door body style and a small footprint while continuing the progressive stylistic approach. It gains wider tracks, a slightly longer wheelbase, reduced overhangs, and larger oval-shaped headlamps than the current model.
A bigger free-standing spherical OLED touchscreen situated in the middle of the dashboard will enhance the interior of the next MINI. While the majority of functions will be integrated into the infotainment system. There will also be physical controls on the center console and steering wheel. Additionally, conventional ignition keys will be available for both ICE and EV models.
The fancy head-up display of the new Cooper EV will replace the outdated traditional digital instrument cluster of the current generation, boosting the interior&#8217;s minimalist design. Sustainable and animal-free upholstery alternatives will eventually be available for the whole MINI series.
<h2>The New Cooper EV Will Cost Over $35,500</h2>
A recent report from Car Magazine says that manufacturing of the next MINI Cooper EV may go to Oxford, UK, alongside the ICE-powered models. Previously, there was speculation that production would take place in Jiangsu, China. Although it is not yet certain, the BMW Group will make a public statement.
MINI CEO Stefanie Wurst said the new Cooper EV will cost over £30,000 ($35,500). Ahead of its ICE-powered equivalent, which will follow in July 2024, the new model will make its premiere in May 2024. In addition to the compact hatchbacks, MINI is also working on the next-generation Countryman SUV. The model will go on sale in February 2024. And the Aceman, an all-electric vehicle will follow in 2025.

A 240-Mile Range MINI Cooper EV To Debuts in 2024

Not one, but two new affordable BMW EVs set to make their appearance in the coming years. The German carmaker is hoping to repeat the astonishing global sales record of the <a href="https://www.licarco.com/bmw-i3-120-ah">BMW i3</a>. The entry-level BMW i1 is due in 2027 and the BMW i2 is due in 2028. These models  doesn&#8217;t seem quite close to the market, given that many automobile companies are launching their well-equipped electric vehicles every day. But they will undoubtedly be significant models for the company, which by that time will undoubtedly have a large number of next-gen EVs in its inventory.
<h2>Both Variants Will be Based on Neue Klasse Platform</h2>
Both of these variants lack rear-wheel drive, in contrast to the original i3. According to rumors, both will be based on the new Neue Klasse platform&#8217;s front-wheel drive variant. The same source also predicts the release of a redesigned iX1 in 2027, a dual-motor all-wheel drive variant might be available as well.
The 1 Series and Mini series use the same platform as the current iX1. But these new models will adopt BMW&#8217;s unique EV layout, and everything will change with the advent of Neue Klasse, designed specifically for the front, rear, and all-wheel drive vehicles. The electric car and perhaps SUV version of the Neue Klasse will appear in 2025.

<h2>Most BMW EVs are Based on ICE Vehicles: iX1, i3 Sedan, and i4</h2>
BMW currently sells a few electric vehicles, but most are based on ICE vehicles such as the <a href="https://www.licarco.com/bmw-ix1-xdrive30">iX1</a>, <a href="https://www.licarco.com/bmw-i3-sedan">i3 sedan</a>, and <a href="https://www.licarco.com/bmw-i4-edrive-40">i4</a>. That said, the iX&#8217;s platform is reportedly a hybrid in terms of the components used, and doesn&#8217;t quite reflect what the Neue Klasse platform would offer.
The body types of the i1 and i2 are yet be known. The BMW i Vision Circular concept, which resembles a future 1 series, was unveiled last year. It might be a very early i1 preview, but it&#8217;s still unlikely that the production model would seem as sophisticated as the concept.
