Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes EQC is a D-segment electric SUV launched in 2019. Rather than creating an all-new platform and building an electric car from the scratch, Mercedes took existing petrol engine GLC as a base, swapped the ICE engine with two electric motors and attached them to an 80-kWh battery.
It has an all-wheel-drive powertrain that can produce 408 HP and 760 Nm torque. According to WLTP test cycle, EQC can provide up to 462 kilometers of range. The 80-kWh battery supports 110 kW DC charging. It takes 40 minutes to charge from 10 percent to 80 percent. Charging was very fast when the EQC first launched on the market, but it is not as fast as Hyundai Ioniq 5, or Audi Q4 e-tron.
Mercedes EQC is being produced both in Germany and China. It is available in most of the Europe, Turkey, and China. Base model EQC 400 4MATIC priced at around €66,000 and sporty trim EQC AMG Line costs €7,000 more.
<h2>Performance</h2>
Mercedes EQC is 700 kilograms heavier than the GLC, but extra weight doesn’t negatively affect its performance. It can produce 408 horsepower and 760 Nm torque. It takes only 5.1 seconds to get from 0-100 km/h (62 mph).
EQC handles like a Mercedes, but it weighs 2.5 tons and center of gravity isn’t that low compared to BMW iX or other electric SUVs. As a result, the car’s rolling around when taking the corners, a little bit of understeering as well.
Top speed is electronically limited to 180 km/h not only for safety reasons, but also keeping the energy consumption at a certain level.
<h2>Design and Features</h2>
Even though it’s based on the GLC, Mercedes EQC has a new front grille, slimmer headlights, lightbar style taillights, and a new dashboard design. Front of the vehicle clearly redesigned to show that Mercedes didn’t just swap the engine and put a big battery pack into an existing car. In fact, the new front design is going to be the distinctive face of the Mercedes’s electric vehicles. Both Mercedes EQS and the compact SUV Mercedes EQA have a very similar nose job.
EQC comes with a 12.5-inch infotainment touch display. It has the latest sat-nav system that supports AR navigation. It basically shows you where you should go with virtual arrows on top of the actual footage of the road. If you’re not sure which way to go, just look at the infotainment screen and it will point you where you should turn.
Front and back seats are adequate. Back doors can be opened quite widely, getting in and out is very convenient. Sunroof isn’t as long as the Tesla Model X’s glass roof though.
<h2>Range and Charging</h2>
Mercedes offers only one battery pack option for the EQC. It has a useable capacity of 80-kWh. When fully charged, EQC can travel up to 462 kilometers.
110 kW DC charging is supported, 10% to 80% of charge takes 40 minutes. There is also a new liquid cooled on-board 11 kW AC charger. EQC owners can fully charge their vehicles at home in seven and a half hours.

Mercedes EQC 400 4MATIC

Jaguar

Jaguar I-Pace is a premium electric SUV launched in 2018. It is the first all-electric car 86 years old Jaguar built. British carmaker beats the BMW and Mercedes in bringing a luxury electric vehicle to the market. It’s not a high-volume production car though, but I-Pace is clearly the luxurious car market’s Model 3 equivalent. It opened up a broad market for different kinds of high range electric cars such as Audi e-tron, Mercedes EQC, and the BMW iX.
2021 I-Pace comes with dual motor all-wheel drive system, it produces 400 horsepower and 696 Nm of torque. Top speed is electronically limited to 200 km per hour. It has got its energy from the 90-kWh battery pack, enough for a range of 470 km when fully charged.
I-Pace is being built jointly with Magna in Austria. Pricing of the Jaguar I-Pace starts at £65,000 in the UK. US pricing is around $70,000.
<h2>Performance</h2>
I-Pace comes with a dual motor drivetrain system. AWD vehicle can produce 400 HP and 696 Nm torque. Its acceleration from zero to 100 km/h only takes 4.8 seconds. As a luxurious vehicle I-Pace offers a comfortable and also speedy drive. Top speed is 200 km/h, powerful electric SUV can reach those speeds in no time.
<h2>Design and Features</h2>
Latest version of the Jaguar I-Pace has an improved front grille design with chrome details. It looks very similar to the gas-powered F-Pace. The only difference is that I-Pace has a completely closed grille which enables car to be more aerodynamically efficient. There are still vents on the bumper down below for cooling the battery system etc.
Jaguar updated the infotainment system with a 10-inch touch display and the latest version of the JLR operation system. Infotainment experience can get a little laggy sometimes and finding what you are looking for easily takes some getting used to, but it supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay via wireless connection as standard. There is also a 5-inch climate control display alongside the physical dials and buttons adding a lot of practicality. Base model I-Pace S doesn’t include this climate control touch display though.
Both front seats come with heating as standard. Wireless charging pad is available for all trims as well. 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster is also standard.
Interior quality is very good, soft materials and plastic parts definitely look classy. But Audi e-tron and e-tron S does feel more luxurious than the I-Pace. Audi did a better job with the interior design.
Back seats offer quite a lot of space for the rear occupants. However, there is nothing special in the back row of the I-Pace, no climate control, only couple of USB ports and optional heated seats. Despite being very spacious I-Pace is only available as a 5-seater. Tesla Model X is still the only electric SUV in this segment to offer seven-seat option.
<h2>Range and Charging</h2>
Jaguar has been using the same 90 kWh battery pack in the I-Pace ever since its launch. Drivers can get 470 kilometers of range from it on a single charge. Charging is the downside of this D-segment electric car. I-Pace only supports 100 kW DC charging, %10-80 will take 45 minutes, while its competitors such as BMW iX3 can reach the same charge level in around 30 minutes thanks to its 150 kW DC support.

Jaguar I-Pace EV400

Citroën

Citroen E-C4 is a family electric SUV unveiled for the European market in 2020. It has 136 horsepower and a 50-kWh battery pack offering 350 kilometers of range in the WLTP cycle. E-C4 supports rapid DC charging at 100 kW rate, can reach 0 to 80 percent charge in 30 minutes.
Although E-C4 is a fully electric vehicle, the platform it is being built is not. Petrol and diesel options of the same car also use the same underpinnings, because of that E-C4 can’t give you the futuristic battery electric car vibe, like Tesla Model Y. But it has a proper modern design and very comfortable suspension, driving around with E-C4 is a joy, lack of petrol/diesel engine noise is also a very big plus.
E-C4 starts at around €35,000. It is being manufactured in Spain and it will be available in the most of Europe before the end of this year. There are three trim levels for the car: E-C4 Sense Plus, E-C4 Shine, and E-C4 Shine Plus.
<h2>Performance</h2>
Citroen E-C4 comes with a front-wheel drive single electric motor that produces 136 HP, 260 Nm torque. Top speed is 150 km per hour, and it can reach 0 to 100 km/h in 9.7 seconds. It’s a mediocre acceleration performance, but steering is very light and driving feels very comfortable.
<h2>Design and Features</h2>
Citroen made dramatic changes to C4’s design, and E-C4 is the first electric version to enjoy new exterior. Front of the vehicle looks very radical, headlights are uniquely shaped, fog lights are very big. Grille is not closed like other EVs. Roof line sloped very sharply over the back, gives the car a coupe-like profile.
Electric version of the Citroen C4 almost looks exactly like the combustion engine version. French carmaker follows the trails of the Audi by making ordinary looking electric vehicles.
Suspension and steering are so comfortable that you will feel like riding in a luxurious vehicle with the E-C4.
There is a wireless charging pad under the infotainment display. There are USB ports (USB A, USB-C) both in the front and back. There is also a tablet mount for the front passenger, probably the first of its kind in a vehicle. This tablet computer mount allows passenger to enjoy any digital content he/she want to consume while enjoying the comfortable ride.
<h2>Range and Charging</h2>
Citroen uses a 50-kWh battery pack in the E-C4, that gives the car a range of 350 kilometers in the WLTP cycle. Rapid charging supported. With the 100 kW DC plugs it can be topped up from %0 to %80 in approximately 30 minutes. 11 kW AC charging, on the other hand, will fully charge the battery in 7.5 hours.

Chinese electric vehicle brands are a top priority at Licarco because the EV market has become increasingly dominated by pure electric Chinese cars. Last year, China sold more EVs than the rest of the world. BYD, NIO, ORA, and Geely are some of the biggest Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers.
Even though China has been producing millions of EVs for years, American drivers wouldn&#8217;t be able to buy one. It&#8217;s because vehicles made in China are subjected to a %27.5 import tariff in the US. Due to heavy taxation, Chinese brands had not prioritized the US auto market in their global plans. But that&#8217;s changing quickly, as more and more Chinese EV marques are expanding their reach towards western markets, including United States.
In this article, we gathered a list of Chinese EV brands and their expansion plans. We will update this post when an announcement is made regarding any Chinese EV maker&#8217;s global expansion.

Leapmotor, an emerging EV brand backed by Dahua Technology, has plans to enter the European market in 2023. The brand officials confirmed that Leapmotor would open showrooms in Europe. To finance its globalization plans, Hangzhou-based carmaker filed its first IPO that worths around $1.5bn at Hong Kong Exchange.
The brand has already started to sell electric vehicles in Turkey and Israel, starting with the compact hatchback called <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.licarco.com/leapmotor-t03" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Leapmotor T03</a>. The first EV to be showcased in Europe will probably be the electric sedan C01. With its sleek design, cell-to-chassis technology, and impressive performance figures, <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.licarco.com/leapmotor-c01" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Leapmotor C01</a> will attract a lot of customers.

BYD first entered Norway with the full-size electric SUV called <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.licarco.com/2022-byd-tang-ev" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tang EV</a>. Over the next months, China&#8217;s biggest EV manufacturer will start selling vehicles all over the world. BYD EVs are already available in Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. European countries where BYD will start operations before the end of 2022 are the United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, and Sweden.
BYD will export these three electric vehicle models to Old Continent; compact electric SUV <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.licarco.com/byd-atto-3" target="_blank" rel="noopener">BYD Atto 3</a>, electric sedan <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.licarco.com/2022-byd-han-ev" target="_blank" rel="noopener">BYD Han EV</a>, and BYD Tang EV. India, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam will also be subject to BYD&#8217;s global expansion, as official statements confirmed.
Unfortunately, BYD has no plans to enter the American market yet. But there is a possibility of Chinese EV maker using its new premium brand, which reportedly will deliver a $145K+ luxury EV to the market, to attract customers from United States.

NIO is one of the first Chinese automakers, which officially confirms its entry into the US market. NIO-branded EVs will be on sale in the US starting in 2025. Large-size SUV ES8 is currently being tested on US roads. There is no official timeline for the US launch, though.
Chinese EV marque will also start selling EVs in Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. The next move on the global plans is to enter more European markets such as Austria, Belgium, France, Hungary, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Portugal, and the Czech Republic. NIO is hoping to sell electric vehicles in 25 countries by 2025.

In February 2022, Xpeng opened its first showroom in Stockholm, Sweden. Guangzhou-based company will start selling EVs in Denmark, Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden before the year ends. The company&#8217;s first offering will be the mid-range electric sedan <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.licarco.com/xpeng-p5-600p" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Xpeng P5</a>.
Xpeng expects half of its electric vehicle sales in 2025 to come from outside of China. Europe is its first choice but customers from the US will eventually get a taste of Xpeng&#8217;s popular cars in the near future. Chinese brand signed a dealership agreement with a Turkish company to sell EVs in Turkey as well. The first vehicle to be put on sale in Turkey will be <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.licarco.com/xpeng-p7-4wd-high-performance" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Xpeng P7</a>.

Geely is a global automotive group. There are brands under the Geely Group that sell vehicles all over the world. Zeekr will be joining those brands next year by entering the European market. EV-only brand will make it official in early 2023, as Zeekr announced.
Zeekr has only one model on sale called Zeekr 001, but it has plans to launch a total of seven EVs by 2025. Its 2025 sales goal in Europe is 100,000 vehicles. There is no word whether Zeekr will sell EVs in Scandinavia, western/or eastern Europe. Follow us for more details.

The company appoints Emil Frey to distribute vehicles starting in Germany. That is not the first time GWM to choose Germany for its global expansion. Chinese automaker&#8217;s battery division SVOLT opened a battery plant in Germany as well. Recently SVOLT announced its second investment worth €2.0bn, which would enable them to produce lithium-ion battery cells directly in the country.

Step 2. Plug the wireless adapter into your Tesla via USB data ports. Use a USB-A to USB-C adapter if necessary. Please be aware that newer Model 3/Y vehicles don&#8217;t have USB data ports in the center console. You will need to use the USB-A port inside the glove compartment.

Step 4. In order to put your controller into pairing mode, first press the Xbox button for one second until it lights up. Then, press and hold the circular pair button located on the back of the controller for three seconds.
Step 5. Once the wireless adapter and Xbox controller ared paired up, the lights on both of these devices will stop blinking. You will see a notification message on your Tesla&#8217;s screen that confirms the pairing.

Regenerative braking technology is a bliss for the efficiency of <a href="https://www.licarco.com/cars">all-electric vehicles</a>. But it takes time to get used to this helpful feature. Sometimes it gets annoying or makes no sense on some occasions. There is an option to turn it off, but things get complicated with <a href="https://www.licarco.com/news/how-many-tesla-cars-have-been-sold">Tesla vehicles</a>. Let us explain.
If you want to turn off regenerative braking on your Tesla, you probably won&#8217;t find any disabling option in the menu. Because turning off regenerative braking is not possible on a Tesla. It is also impossible to adjust the regen on Tesla vehicles built since Q2 2020. Tesla Model S/3/X/Y vehicles built before that date can still be able to offer adjustments. You just need to navigate through the main screen and go to Driving, then change the &#8216;Regenerative Braking&#8217; to &#8216;Low&#8217; for reducing the level of regenerative braking.
Newer Tesla vehicles come with standard level regen as default. There is no &#8216;Regenerative Braking&#8217; adjustment option anymore. So, why wouldn&#8217;t Tesla allow its drivers to adjust regenerative braking? The main reason is that the vehicle range is heavily affected by not being able to recuperate the energy you otherwise lost to heat, etc by pressing the brake pedal. Other automakers agree with Tesla as well. According to <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://electrek.co/2018/08/08/audi-e-tron-quattro-electric-suv-range-regen-braking/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Audi</a>, regenerative braking can extend the range by up to 30% on average. If you live in a cold area or your battery is fully charged, your Tesla vehicle would warn you about the regenerative braking is being limited. That&#8217;s because the battery is unable to receive the energy from the regen system and the battery&#8217;s management system temporarily turns off the regenerative braking feature. It might take up to half an hour for your vehicle to recover from that. In order to reduce the negative effects of this limitation, you can enable an extra feature for automatically applying the brake pedals instead of regen braking. Just go to Controls &gt; Pedals &amp; Steering, then turn on the &#8216;Apply Brakes When Regenerative Braking is Limited&#8217; option.

Not being able to turn off regenerative braking might sound dangerous on icy/snowy roads, but Tesla has a solution for this. NIO Debuts the ES8 and EC7 Coupe SUV

BMW M is better known for its performance sedans, such as the M3 and M5. However, the performance division has recently gone in many new ways. Additionally, the new 2023 XM integrates several of these new aspects in a single vehicle. This seems reasonable considering it&#8217;s the M&#8217;s new flagship.
As an M-badged SUV, the XM also debuts a new plug-in hybrid engine, the first hybrid to bear the M badge when the concept version of the XM debuted last year. It is set to be on sale in the United States in the first quarter of 2023.
<h2>BMW XM Has Much More Power than Existing Production of BMW</h2>
The XM&#8217;s powertrain comprises a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 coupled with an electric motor fitted into the eight-speed automated transmission. A 25.7-kWh battery pack allows for an estimated electric driving range of 30 kilometers. Total output is 644 horsepower &amp; 590 pound-feet of torque, with an even more powerful Label Red variant coming out later with a promised 735 hp and 735 pound-feet. This makes the XM a much more strong existing production BMW. It&#8217;ll require all of that power to maneuver around its 6062 pound/2.75 t bulk.

The external appearance seems to be more angular and commanding than that of many of BMW&#8217;s previous SUVs. Front split headlights, identical to those featured on the new X7, flank the huge kidney grilles. A bold emphasized character line rises down the side and kicks up at the rear doors as a homage to the legendary BMW Hofmeister kink.
BMW insignia are carved into each top corner of the back windshield, and the taillights wrap around the sides. The quad exhaust tips and diffuser features give the rear bumper a sporty appearance. 23-inch wheels are standard, but 22-inch are available as an alternative, and BMW claims that the lesser size saves weight.

During the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas at the beginning of 2022, Sony has shown its Vision S 02 concept and declared that it aims to be an EV brand. The Vision S 02 concept is a seven-seat, 4.95-meter-long prototype SUV powered by an electric motor for a total of 563 hp with a 0-62 mph time of fewer than five seconds.
The images of the Vision S 02 have shown a similar interior design to the original Vision-S concept, with a full-width high-definition display instead of a conventional fascia, and headrest screens for second-row passengers. Even though not having delivered a single 100 percent EV, Bentley&#8217;s CEO plans to burn through the sector&#8217;s specifications page. In the latest interview, Adrian Hallmark teased some specifications and pricing details for Bentley&#8217;s first EV.
According to Hallmark, the Bentley EV scheduled for 2025 will be capable of producing up to 1,400 hp. And it&#8217;s accelerating from 0-60 mph/0-97 kph in 1.5 seconds. If true, this new Bentley would outperform both the Tesla Model S Plaid with1,020 hp and the Lucid Air Dream Edition Performance with 1,111 hp. Both of the speediest passenger EVs on the market, hitting 0-60 mph in under two seconds.
Some specifications solely could be a great selling point for EV connoisseurs with financial backing. Hallmark claims that the new Bentley&#8217;s essential selling point is not its unparagoned speed. He claims it will be the vehicle&#8217;s extremely simple outperforming due to instant torque.
<h2>Envisagement and Target Pricing</h2>
Hallmark did not provide any extra information about the latest Bentley EV. However, he did state that its design would be based on the Continental GT coupe, Flying Spur sedan, and Bentayga SUV from the automaker&#8217;s current roster. As Bentley appears to be going all-electric, Hallmark says all three models will be converted to BEV versions.

The novel BEV will be created on the premium platform electric (PPE) advanced by Volkswagen Group divisions Porsche and Audi. The PPE will instantaneously provide Bentley with battery tech, drive components, and body functions. It also provides connected and autonomous car functionality.

While there are no official valuations for the 2025 Bentley EV, its own CEO has stated that approximately one variant will cost more than €250,000/$262,000. For this kind of money, this EV had better go from 0 to 60 mph in 1.5 seconds while also providing massages.
What is fascinating is that the steep price argument is not due to the high cost of EV batteries. Hallmark stated that and continued:
&#8220;The 12-cylinder engine costs roughly ten times as much as the average premium car engine, and the average battery costs less than our 12-cylinder engine. I can&#8217;t wait for batteries, which are relatively inexpensive.&#8221;
