Denza N7 is the second vehicle launch since Mercedes-BYD joint venture’s recent revamp. BYD is now own this EV company’s 90 percent, while Mercedes is holding the minorty 10 percent stake. German carmaker is still managing the design work of Denza EVs.
As brand’s next generation premium electric SUV, Denza N7 first revealed at the Auto Shanghai in April 2023. It’s based on BYD’s modular e-platform 3.0 architecture featuring CTB (cell-to-body) battery pack and compact powertrain unit capable of delivering more than 500-horsepower.
There are two variants of N7 available to order: N7 RWD and N7 AWD. The rear-wheel-drive version offers up to 702 kilometers of range and 230-kW power. The dual motor AWD version comes equipped with the same 91.4-kWh battery pack. It can produce up to 531 horsepower, deliver around 630 kilometers of CLTC range.
Denza N7’s Unique Features
Denza N7 is the first passenger vehicle to adopt a dual-port DC charging technology. N7’s top charging speed is 230-kW when both ports are in use. It can deliver 350 kilometers of range in 15 minutes.
BYD implements its next-gen air suspension called DiSus-A into the Denza N7. Thanks to this smart system, N7’s suspension height, stifness and damping can be adjusted. It’s one of the most comfortable electric SUVs on the market.
There are a total of six displays inside the N7. Its sound system is developed by French audio technology company called Devialet. Almost every aspect of the N7 is designed in a way to make its driver feel special. It supports 50W wireless smartphone charging and comes with capacitive digital climate control buttons.
Denza N7’s starting price is around $41,700 or 301,800 CNY in China. This price tag belongs to single motor RWD version. All-wheel-drive N7 costs a little bit more at $44,400.
