BYD Seal U is a rebadged version of the Chinese EV maker&#8217;s &#8216;<a href="https://www.licarco.com/2023-byd-song-plus-ev">Song Plus</a>&#8216; model. It&#8217;s defined as a D-segment sports utility vehicle with its 4,785 millimeters long body. There are two battery options available for purchase; standard range (420-km WLTP) with a 71.8-kWh LFP battery and long range (500-km WLTP) with a larger 87-kWh pack. XXXXX 
The Seal U is the sixth vehicle (first five vehicles are Tang, Han, Atto 3, Seal, and Dolphin) that BYD exports to European countries. Even though BYD describes Seal U as a D-SUV, it&#8217;s a direct rival to Volkswagen&#8217;s ID.4, Skoda&#8217;s Enyaq iV, Renault&#8217;s Megane E-Tech, and other electric C-segment SUVs. Seal U&#8217;s biggest advantage is the more capable infotainment system with 4G/5G connection, DiLink operating system, and third-pary app support. 
Chinese automaker will release more details regarding Seal U at IAA Mobility in September. Seal U deliveries will begin in Q4 2023.

The Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD has opened orders for the Seal U model. For the 2024 model year, there is a significant reduction in prices, almost $3,000.
Having surpassed the 800,000 sales mark in three years, the Seal U will initially come to our country only with the plug-in hybrid version. This motor option stands out with a starting price of $18,000.

⚡ Chinese ZEEKR极氪 announced a major update to its first car, the 001, by replacing over 2,000 components.

🔋The 2024 BYD Han boasts a range of 506 km (CLTC), which extends up to 715 kilometers in the version with an 85.44 kWh battery. During today&#8217;s event, it was emphasized for the first time that the car features a silicon carbide chip inverter and an 800V architecture. However, the charging speed of the largest battery being limited to 155 kW indicates that the entire high-voltage system is not yet ready for 800V.
🚗In the performance version of the car, a dual-motor powertrain capable of producing 517 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque is used, achieving a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.9 seconds.

Audi, using NCM811 cathode cells produced by Chinese company Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) in Germany, states that the larger cell form facilitates battery production. Additionally, it emphasizes that the newly developed smart thermal management system enhances battery life by continuously conditioning the battery and reduces charging time.
Regarding the engine, the company claims a 50% increase in efficiency compared to the first-generation electric Audis and states that it can produce more power with smaller motors by increasing power density by 62%. It should be noted that the Q6 e-tron uses an asynchronous ASM motor at the front and a permanent magnet synchronous PSM motor at the rear, differentiating it from the electric #Macan.

Skoda Plans No Fewer Than Six Electric Vehicles for 2026

Skoda officially confirms that its most popular vehicle will go electric. Development of the fully-electric Octavia is underway, according to CEO Klaus Zellmer&#8217;s statement published by <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/all-electric-octavia-being-developed-skoda" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Autocar</a>.

Octavia is the best-selling model of the Czech firm and it will definitely be around after Europe&#8217;s ICE car sales ban in 2035. Alongside the electric Octavia, the Czech firm will launch a mini-SUV, which is going to replace the current generation B-segment hatchback Fabia. There will also be a 7-seater large-size SUV that will be based on Skoda&#8217;s recently announced concept called Vision 7S. Skoda will cover almost every category of the EV market by releasing a crossover SUV and an urban EV by 2026. These vehicles will look more rugged, just like the automaker&#8217;s new design language shown in the form of an SUV concept earlier this month.
Specs-wise, there is nothing official to report right now. But it is clear that Skoda wants us to take a clue from the Vision 7S concept, which has an 89-kWh battery pack, 600+ kilometers of WLTP range, and 200 kW DC charging support. Electric Octavia will most likely be one of the most competitive C-sedan with this configuration.

SsangYong, a South Korean 4&#215;4 manufacturer, just unveiled an all-new EV named the Torres. It claims will arrive in Europe in 2023 as a BEV. This EV is codenamed U100 internally. It will fill the space in the lineup between both the Korando and the Rexton, the brand&#8217;s second smallest and supreme vehicles, accordingly.
It is likely to have a somewhat higher off-road focus than just the Czech version, as well as virtually all other vehicles in the class. SsangYong is similar to Land Rover because it takes pleasure in knowing that all of those vehicles are built to be capable off-road. However, they are just not as properly equipped as the British brand&#8217;s vehicles.
