The Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD has opened orders for the Seal U model. For the 2024 model year, there is a significant reduction in prices, almost $3,000.
Having surpassed the 800,000 sales mark in three years, the Seal U will initially come to our country only with the plug-in hybrid version. This motor option stands out with a starting price of $18,000.

⚡#BYD has revamped its popular electric sedan Han, which sold 220,000 units last year. The 2024 version of the car has been launched in China with a starting price of $25,000.
🟢The 5-meter sedan features a base model with a 150 kW motor, a 60.48 kWh LFP battery, and 110 kW DC charging support. All models come equipped with the new Level 2+ intelligent driving system, DiPilot 100, which has been in development for over 1,000 days. Additionally, the new generation intelligent suspension system, DiSus-C, has been integrated into the 2024 model to enhance Han&#8217;s comfort.

🔋The 2024 BYD Han boasts a range of 506 km (CLTC), which extends up to 715 kilometers in the version with an 85.44 kWh battery. During today&#8217;s event, it was emphasized for the first time that the car features a silicon carbide chip inverter and an 800V architecture. However, the charging speed of the largest battery being limited to 155 kW indicates that the entire high-voltage system is not yet ready for 800V.
🚗In the performance version of the car, a dual-motor powertrain capable of producing 517 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque is used, achieving a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.9 seconds.

#Audi has introduced its first car developed on the all-electric PPE platform, the Q6 e-tron.
The Q6 e-tron, which is priced 10% cheaper than its sibling model, the Porsche Macan EV, developed on the same platform, stands out with both more compact and lightweight electric motors and a large prismatic cell-based massive battery.

Audi, using NCM811 cathode cells produced by Chinese company Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) in Germany, states that the larger cell form facilitates battery production. Additionally, it emphasizes that the newly developed smart thermal management system enhances battery life by continuously conditioning the battery and reduces charging time.
Regarding the engine, the company claims a 50% increase in efficiency compared to the first-generation electric Audis and states that it can produce more power with smaller motors by increasing power density by 62%. It should be noted that the Q6 e-tron uses an asynchronous ASM motor at the front and a permanent magnet synchronous PSM motor at the rear, differentiating it from the electric #Macan.

🟢Announcing that it will convert diesel mining trucks to electric in 2021 together with #ABB, #Hitachi shared that the first vehicle has been produced.
⛏️The giant truck started to be used in a copper-gold mine in Zambia. It climbs with an electrical connection that feeds the battery, similar to a trolleybus, while going to pick up load. When turning downhill while loaded, it recharges its battery thanks to regenerative braking.

A press conference was conducted by Skoda today to unveil plans for a real EV invasion, with no less than six models arriving by 2026 to address diverse market niches. Leading the charge will be the Elroq, a &#8220;Compact&#8221; model that will be on sale in 2024. It is being created as the Karoq&#8217;s electric replacement and will be around 4.5 meters/177.1 inches long.
The year 2025 will be particularly busy for the Czech automaker since it plans to release the second-generation Enyaq &amp; Enyaq Coupe as well as an entry-level EV that SEAT will produce in Spain. The subcompact variant, which is now just known as the &#8220;Small,&#8221; will be around 4.1 meters/161.4 inches in length, have load space similar to the Scala, and have a starting price of about $26,700/€25,000.
The &#8220;Combi&#8221; expected in 2026 will likely be the most intriguing of the six. According to Skoda, the wagon will be roughly 4.7 meters/185 inches long and resemble Octavia. The &#8220;Space&#8221; will enter the lineup in the same year as a seven-seater SUV that is 4.9 meters/193 inches long and has &#8220;enormous interior space.&#8221; The 2022 Vision 7S concept has previously given a sneak peek of the three-row family car.
<h2>Skoda Hopes That Sales Of Evs Will Make Up 70% Of All Yearly Deliveries</h2>
By 2027, the Volkswagen Group will invest $6.1 billion/€5.6 billion in these six cars, which are planned to sport the company&#8217;s new &#8220;Modern Solid&#8221; design language. By the end of the decade, Skoda hopes that sales of EVs will make up 70% of all yearly deliveries. Meanwhile, &#8220;car sculptures&#8221; that showcase the expanded electric portfolio are giving us a rough indication of the new aesthetic approach across numerous categories.

Skoda Plans No Fewer Than Six Electric Vehicles for 2026

Skoda officially confirms that its most popular vehicle will go electric. Development of the fully-electric Octavia is underway, according to CEO Klaus Zellmer&#8217;s statement published by <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/all-electric-octavia-being-developed-skoda" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Autocar</a>.

Octavia is the best-selling model of the Czech firm and it will definitely be around after Europe&#8217;s ICE car sales ban in 2035. Skoda aims to generate 70 percent of its profit from fully-electric vehicles by 2030. Octavia will be one of those vehicles. But Zellmer didn&#8217;t rule out the possibility of another generation of ICE and plug-in hybrid Octavia models for some yet-to-be electrified markets.

Alongside the electric Octavia, the Czech firm will launch a mini-SUV, which is going to replace the current generation B-segment hatchback Fabia. There will also be a 7-seater large-size SUV that will be based on Skoda&#8217;s recently announced concept called Vision 7S. Skoda will cover almost every category of the EV market by releasing a crossover SUV and an urban EV by 2026. These vehicles will look more rugged, just like the automaker&#8217;s new design language shown in the form of an SUV concept earlier this month.
Specs-wise, there is nothing official to report right now. But it is clear that Skoda wants us to take a clue from the Vision 7S concept, which has an 89-kWh battery pack, 600+ kilometers of WLTP range, and 200 kW DC charging support. Electric Octavia will most likely be one of the most competitive C-sedan with this configuration.

SsangYong, a South Korean 4&#215;4 manufacturer, just unveiled an all-new EV named the Torres. It claims will arrive in Europe in 2023 as a BEV. This EV is codenamed U100 internally. It will fill the space in the lineup between both the Korando and the Rexton, the brand&#8217;s second smallest and supreme vehicles, accordingly.
It is likely to have a somewhat higher off-road focus than just the Czech version, as well as virtually all other vehicles in the class. SsangYong is similar to Land Rover because it takes pleasure in knowing that all of those vehicles are built to be capable off-road. However, they are just not as properly equipped as the British brand&#8217;s vehicles.

According to the footage, the Torres will have a front storage box, similar to the Land Rover Defender, as well as side steps, but they are likely to be optional extras. According to Ssangyong, the new style is inspired by its &#8220;unique design background,&#8221; with several pointers to the Musso, a British-designed, Mercedes-Benz-engineered SUV from the 1990s.
Inside the car, there&#8217;s a &#8216;floating&#8217; infotainment screen in the center of the dashboard. SsangYong Torres, whose official stats will be released soon. It is expected to be quite competitive in its pricing. The vehicle will cost $20,900 in South Korea when it goes on sale. The cost of the most expensive bundles reaches $24,000.

That is a historical milestone for the European automotive industry, as diesel cars were the most popular powertrain option a few years back. Electrification has been rising steadily, and automakers keep increasing their EV development budget every month! European companies will eventually stop their combustion-engine vehicle R&amp;D in the next few years.
