The Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD has opened orders for the Seal U model. For the 2024 model year, there is a significant reduction in prices, almost $3,000.
Having surpassed the 800,000 sales mark in three years, the Seal U will initially come to our country only with the plug-in hybrid version. This motor option stands out with a starting price of $18,000.

#Audi has introduced its first car developed on the all-electric PPE platform, the Q6 e-tron.
The Q6 e-tron, which is priced 10% cheaper than its sibling model, the Porsche Macan EV, developed on the same platform, stands out with both more compact and lightweight electric motors and a large prismatic cell-based massive battery.

Audi, using NCM811 cathode cells produced by Chinese company Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) in Germany, states that the larger cell form facilitates battery production. Additionally, it emphasizes that the newly developed smart thermal management system enhances battery life by continuously conditioning the battery and reduces charging time.
Regarding the engine, the company claims a 50% increase in efficiency compared to the first-generation electric Audis and states that it can produce more power with smaller motors by increasing power density by 62%. It should be noted that the Q6 e-tron uses an asynchronous ASM motor at the front and a permanent magnet synchronous PSM motor at the rear, differentiating it from the electric #Macan.

All models come equipped with the new Level 2+ intelligent driving system, DiPilot 100, which has been in development for over 1,000 days. 🔋The 2024 BYD Han boasts a range of 506 km (CLTC), which extends up to 715 kilometers in the version with an 85.44 kWh battery. During today&#8217;s event, it was emphasized for the first time that the car features a silicon carbide chip inverter and an 800V architecture. However, the charging speed of the largest battery being limited to 155 kW indicates that the entire high-voltage system is not yet ready for 800V.
🚗In the performance version of the car, a dual-motor powertrain capable of producing 517 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque is used, achieving a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.9 seconds.

⚡ Chinese ZEEKR极氪 announced a major update to its first car, the 001, by replacing over 2,000 components.
🔋 The 2024 Zeekr 001, available with 95 and 100 kWh battery options, now features an 800V architecture. This not only boosts charging speeds up to 350 kW but also significantly enhances the vehicle’s efficiency.
🟢 Transitioning to the new-generation thermal management system called PTM 2.0 along with the battery, the 4.9-meter electric crossover can operate efficiently in both high and low temperatures.

The Chinese EV firm NIO launched in Norway in 2021, and this year it plans to do the same in the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, and Denmark. NIO apparently intends to expand its presence in Europe by 2023 by entering nine additional markets.

Xiaomi first announced its plans for an in-house electric car project last year. The firm invested 10 billion yuan (~$1.48 billion) capital to its new adventure. In April 2022, the Chinese tech giant broke ground for the production site of its first auto factory in Beijing. 100 days passed, and Xiaomi is finally ready to give something to the press. The first official footage of the Mi Car, sometimes referred to as Xiaomi EV is set to be revealed next month.
The company&#8217;s founder and CEO Lei Jun confirmed that they have been developing their proprietary vehicle platform from scratch. The company has already started to conduct some testing on an alpha version of its first EV. Beijing-based consumer electronics manufacturer will release photos and test footages that belongs to an early version of Xiaomi&#8217;s fully-electric vehicle, media outlets reported.
In 2021, 70 percent of the electric vehicles sold in China were priced between 80 to 250,000 yuan (~$12,000-$37,000). Xiaomi will definitely position itself in this segment and try to make its mobility services available to as many Mi fans as they can get.

Unlike the Chinese EV market&#8217;s two successful marques <a href="https://www.licarco.com/cars?filter=tesla">Tesla</a> and <a href="https://www.licarco.com/cars?filter=nio">NIO</a>, instead of the highly popular Shanghai region, Xiaomi chose Beijing as its base for EV production. It&#8217;s a two-phase plan, and the first phase is due in June 2023. After that, Xiaomi EV will enter the pre-production stage and finally go into mass production in the first months of 2024.
Xiaomi is planning to produce 150,000 EVs annually when the first phase is complete. The second phase&#8217;s construction will start in March 2024 and will be completed in one year. The Beijing facility&#8217;s annual production capacity will reach over 300,000 vehicles.
Chinese firm was not joking around when it declares its entry to EV market, as it plans to spend as much as $10 billions in the next couple of year for a globalized automotive brand.
