It can now travel up to 402 kilometers on a single charge, thanks to a more energy-dense 54-kWh battery pack designed for Opel and other EVs sold by Stellantis. 
For the first time in Corsa&#8217;s 40 years of history, small hatchback offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support as standard. The all-electric Corsa also features a wider 10.1-inch infotainment display, which is powered by a faster Snapdragon Cockpit chipset supplied by well-known semiconductor Qualcomm.

The Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD has opened orders for the Seal U model. For the 2024 model year, there is a significant reduction in prices, almost $3,000.
Having surpassed the 800,000 sales mark in three years, the Seal U will initially come to our country only with the plug-in hybrid version. This motor option stands out with a starting price of $18,000.

#Audi has introduced its first car developed on the all-electric PPE platform, the Q6 e-tron.
The Q6 e-tron, which is priced 10% cheaper than its sibling model, the Porsche Macan EV, developed on the same platform, stands out with both more compact and lightweight electric motors and a large prismatic cell-based massive battery.

Audi, using NCM811 cathode cells produced by Chinese company Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) in Germany, states that the larger cell form facilitates battery production. Additionally, it emphasizes that the newly developed smart thermal management system enhances battery life by continuously conditioning the battery and reduces charging time.
Regarding the engine, the company claims a 50% increase in efficiency compared to the first-generation electric Audis and states that it can produce more power with smaller motors by increasing power density by 62%. It should be noted that the Q6 e-tron uses an asynchronous ASM motor at the front and a permanent magnet synchronous PSM motor at the rear, differentiating it from the electric #Macan.

🔋 The 2024 Zeekr 001, available with 95 and 100 kWh battery options, now features an 800V architecture. This not only boosts charging speeds up to 350 kW but also significantly enhances the vehicle’s efficiency.
🟢 Transitioning to the new-generation thermal management system called PTM 2.0 along with the battery, the 4.9-meter electric crossover can operate efficiently in both high and low temperatures.
💨 The new 001 offers a single-motor option producing 310 kW (422 HP) and a dual-motor option capable of generating 560 kW (762 HP). Hence, it’s expected to have a starting price around $40,000.

🟢The 5-meter sedan features a base model with a 150 kW motor, a 60.48 kWh LFP battery, and 110 kW DC charging support. All models come equipped with the new Level 2+ intelligent driving system, DiPilot 100, which has been in development for over 1,000 days. Additionally, the new generation intelligent suspension system, DiSus-C, has been integrated into the 2024 model to enhance Han&#8217;s comfort.

🔋The 2024 BYD Han boasts a range of 506 km (CLTC), which extends up to 715 kilometers in the version with an 85.44 kWh battery. During today&#8217;s event, it was emphasized for the first time that the car features a silicon carbide chip inverter and an 800V architecture. However, the charging speed of the largest battery being limited to 155 kW indicates that the entire high-voltage system is not yet ready for 800V.
🚗In the performance version of the car, a dual-motor powertrain capable of producing 517 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque is used, achieving a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.9 seconds.

🟢Announcing that it will convert diesel mining trucks to electric in 2021 together with #ABB, #Hitachi shared that the first vehicle has been produced.
⛏️The giant truck started to be used in a copper-gold mine in Zambia. It climbs with an electrical connection that feeds the battery, similar to a trolleybus, while going to pick up load. When turning downhill while loaded, it recharges its battery thanks to regenerative braking.
🔋In this way, ABB and Hitachi completed the transformation with a smaller one instead of a megawatt-hour battery. They made this possible thanks to the regenerative braking ability of the huge electric motors seen in the prototype photo.
🔌Mining truck&#8217;s previously had a giant internal combustion engine with 16 cylinders and 2,534 horsepower. It will relatively reduce the impact of mining on the environment by ending diesel consumption and zeroing out emissions after the conversion to electric.

🟢#Stellantis announced that it will enter the hydrogen fuel cell light commercial market with 8 models. Annual sales are expected to reach 10,000 by 2025.

💧The fuel cells for Stellantis&#8217; hydrogen commercial vehicles will be supplied by Symbio. The company, which established a factory with a production capacity of 16,000 cells in France in December 2023, plans to increase the capacity to 50,000 by 2026. Symbio is owned by with equal shares of %33  Stellantis and France&#8217;s two world giants, automotive parts supplier Forvia and tire manufacturer Michelin.

🔋The Italian company will launch the fully electric version of the Ypsilon model. The company uses the same infrastructure as the #Stellantis group Peugeot 208 and Opel Corsa. Ypsilon will offer a range of over 400 km with its 156 horsepower engine and 54 kWh battery. The vehicle will go on sale in the summer months this year.
🚗The new generation Ypsilon will be developed on the e-CMP2 platform and produced in Spain. It will also be Lancia&#8217;s last model with an internal combustion engine option. By 2028, all Lancias will be produced only electric. Ypsilon will be followed by the fastback electric sedan Gamma in 2026 and the compact hatchback Delta in 2028.

Lancia will be back with an electric sedan!

⚡Sodium ion battery startup Tiamat announced that it will establish a 5 GWh capacity factory in France.
🏭The company also managed to raise 22 million euros in investment in the last round led by #Stellantis. Tiamat&#8217;s second-generation sodium cells will be produced in the facility to be established.
🔋The sodium ion battery promises great potential as it can be charged at high speed, has a much longer lifespan compared to lithium-ion, does not lose range/performance in winter, and is much cheaper.
🟢 In addition to the cell with 140-160 Wh/kg energy density and 5C discharge value (full charge/discharge in 12 minutes), the French startup is developing another cell that can be charged in 6 minutes and maintain over 80% of its capacity even after 5,000 cycles.
🚗The sodium batteries that Tiamat will start producing in 2025 can be used in affordable Peugeot, Citroen, and Opel cars shortly.

Stellantis becomes a partner of Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Leapmotor with a $1 billion investment!
Stellantis will invest approximately 1 billion dollars in return for a 20% stake in Leapmotor according to Bloomberg.
Leapmotor and Stellantis were previously rumored to establish a partnership to develop and produce electric vehicles. Both companies will cooperate in both Europe and China if this investment materializes.

Stellantis announced two weeks ago that it would completely transfer its automotive activities in China to Dongfeng Motor. They complained that they could not compete in this giant market against Chinese companies.
Leapmotor was founded in 2015 with the support of Dahua, a global giant operating in the security camera and equipment sector. Apart from the T03 sold in Turkey, the company produces and sells vehicles such as the electric sedan C01 and the European homologated electric SUV C10, which attract attention with their aerodynamic design, chassis-integrated battery, and highly efficient electronic architecture.

It was known that Leapmotor wanted to accelerate its overseas expansion because sales figures were below expectations due to high competition in China. The Zhejiang-based company will be able to expand its sales and marketing operations to a wider geography thanks to the Stellantis partnership. The company directly targets the European market with the C10.
With this investment, Stellantis will develop affordable Peugeot, Citroen, Opel, Jeep, and Fiat brand electric vehicles and offer them to customers both in China and Europe.

Stellantis Invests $1 Billion in Chinese Electric Vehicle Manufacturer

The automobile company Stellantis, which owns Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, and Ram among other brands, will spend around $176 million/€160 million to introduce an entirely new, all-electric luxury SUV in 2025.
The future EV will be built on the STLA Medium platform from the consortium, which is intended for luxury cars with a length of between 165.4 and 196.9 inches/4,200 and 5,000 millimeters and a battery capacity of between 87 and 105 kilowatt-hours with a maximum range of 700 kilometers/440 miles.
Additionally, the Stellantis STLA Medium design may employ powertrains that produce between 125-330 kilowatts/167-442 horsepower, in either front-, rear-, or all-wheel drive combinations, according to the company&#8217;s early details about its new EV platforms scheduled to debut in 2021.
The company will invest in its Rennes plant in France, including a workshop for battery assembly and a facility specifically for plastic injection molding. The <a href="https://www.licarco.com/search?_=peugeot">Peugeot 5008</a> and <a href="https://www.licarco.com/search?_=citr%C3%B6en">Citroen C5 Aircross</a> are currently produced in France, however, both vehicles will likely be replaced by this revolutionary EV, code-named CR3.
<h2>The New Vehicle Would Not Be Available In Any Other Form Other Than An All-Electric Model</h2>
It&#8217;s important to remember that the giant carmaker company also controls Opel and Vauxhall, both of which produce the Grandland small SUV, which currently shares a chassis with the Peugeot and Citroen versions. The STLA Medium platform-based all-electric replacement, which will be built at the company&#8217;s facility in Eisenach, Germany, and make its debut the following year, will also replace these two variants.
While Jeep&#8217;s following all-electric SUVs, the Recon and Wagoneer S, will be mainly sold in the United States, all of these EVs will be targeted primarily at the European market.
As part of its &#8220;Dare Forward 2030&#8221; strategy, Stellantis plans to make all of its brands&#8217; vehicles electric starting in 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2038.

Stellantis To Develop High-End Premium Electric SUV for 2025

The sixth generation of the Opel Corsa has been on the market since 2019 as the automaker&#8217;s first vehicle built on Stellantis underpinnings. Four years later, the supermini receives the Opel Vizor makeover, greater interior technology, a more powerful and efficient electric powertrain, and two mild-hybrid choices.
The Opel Vizor face with a shining black grille linking the new headlamps is the focus of the outward modifications. In terms of illumination, the optional Intelli-Lux LED matrix technology now has 14 components rather than 8. The Opel Blitz logo is available in black or matte satin silver. In addition, the revised bumper gets a set of thinner but mainly ornamental side intakes for a more aggressive appearance. The remainder of the bodywork is mostly the same, with the exception of a new Grafik Grey paint option that may be coupled with black for the roof, mirror caps, emblems, and bumper trim.

Over-the-air upgrades are now supported, and speech recognition is much more accurate. The Corsa also gains from a brand-new, high-resolution panoramic rear-view camera as well as a wide range of ADAS features, including adaptive cruise control.
<h2>Options Include Two Electric And Two Mild Hybrids</h2>
The Opel Corsa&#8217;s mid-lifecycle upgrade is more than just cosmetic, as the carmaker gave the supermini the newest Stellantis powertrain components, which have already made their debut in several other CMP/eCMP-based models.
The vehicle now has two engine options starting with the Corsa Electric. The regular model has a greater WLTP range of 357 km/222 miles, although it still delivers the same 134 horsepower (100 kW / 136 PS). A stronger model is also available with a newer, more effective electric motor that generates 154 horsepower (115 kW/156 PS) and is coupled to a larger battery pack (54 kWh, up from 50 kWh), giving it a WLTP range of 406 kilometers/252 miles. The battery can move from 20% to 80% when connected to a fast charger in 30 minutes.

More significantly, the Opel Corsa is the first vehicle from the manufacturer to offer mild hybrid choices. The new 1.2-liter turbocharged engine has a 48-volt system and two outputs: 99 horsepower (74 kW/100 PS) and 134 hp (100 kW/136 PS). Only along with the new six-speed dual-clutch automatic are both used.
Opel announced that the facelifted Corsa will eventually be offered with &#8220;efficient combustion engines&#8221; in addition to the electric alternatives. This most likely refers to the existing 134 horsepower (100 kW / 136 PS) non-electrified 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbocharged engine that is available with a six-speed manual transmission on the mechanically comparable Opel Mokka. By 2028, Opel plans to entirely sell electric vehicles in Europe, thus this will likely be the final Corsa model to be supplied with internal combustion engines.

Europe is the world&#8217;s second-largest EV market after China. EV sales volume now accounts for approximately 20% of the new car market, compared to only 5–6% in the US. GM used to have a presence in Europe for 90 years through its Opel and Vauxhall brands, but it battled to make a profit there. Evidently, it made a loss on its European operations for 16 consecutive years and sold both brands to Stellantis. Somehow it sells the odd Corvette or Cadillac there, but it has all but vanished from the Old Continent.
And yet, as the EV revolution gathers steam in the EU, General Motors CEO Mary Barra told a crowd this week, &#8220;Just around 5 years ago, we decided to sell our Opel business to what became Stellantis, so we have no seller&#8217;s remorse from an internal combustion business.&#8221; But we are considering the current opportunity for growth since we can re-enter Europe as an all-EV player. &#8220;I&#8217;m excited about that.&#8221;

<h2>The new Cadillac Lyriq and electric Corvette might be candidates for European sales</h2>
Mahmoud Samara has been appointed GM Europe&#8217;s managing director. Samara previously served as Cadillac&#8217;s North America head of sales and marketing, where he assisted in the brand&#8217;s transformation to an all-electric lineup. In Europe, his objective is to build a lucrative business &#8220;non-traditional mobility start-up&#8221; for EVs. He is also liable for autonomous vehicles, software, connectivity services, logistics, and defense.
It will not be easy for GM, which has no manufacturing foothold in Europe. To compete with local manufacturers like VW and Ford, GM must be ready to lose a lot of money on the way to sales and profits.
GM is aware of how to lose money with its European operations. The matter now is whether it knows how to make money there. The new owners of the Opel division began making money on the brand within a year of taking control, prompting some to question whether GM truly understands how to do business in Europe.
It still remains a mystery which electric cars GM will sell in Europe.
