<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Regenerative braking technology is a bliss for the efficiency of <a href="https://www.licarco.com/cars">all-electric vehicles</a>. But it takes time to get used to this helpful feature. Sometimes it gets annoying or makes no sense on some occasions. There is an option to turn it off, but things get complicated with <a href="https://www.licarco.com/news/how-many-tesla-cars-have-been-sold">Tesla vehicles</a>. Let us explain.</span></p>
<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true">If you want to turn off regenerative braking on your Tesla, you probably won&#8217;t find any disabling option in the menu. Because turning off regenerative braking is not possible on a Tesla. It is also impossible to adjust the regen on Tesla vehicles built since Q2 2020</span></strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true">. Tesla Model S/3/X/Y vehicles built before that date can still be able to offer adjustments. You just need to navigate through the main screen and go to Driving, then change the &#8216;Regenerative Braking&#8217; to &#8216;Low&#8217; for reducing the level of regenerative braking.</span></p>
<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Newer Tesla vehicles come with standard level regen as default. There is no &#8216;Regenerative Braking&#8217; adjustment option anymore. So, why wouldn&#8217;t Tesla allow its drivers to adjust regenerative braking? The main reason is that the vehicle range is heavily affected by not being able to recuperate the energy you otherwise lost to heat, etc by pressing the brake pedal. Other automakers agree with Tesla as well. According to </span><a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://electrek.co/2018/08/08/audi-e-tron-quattro-electric-suv-range-regen-braking/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Audi</span></a><span data-preserver-spaces="true">, regenerative braking can extend the range by up to 30% on average. Soon, every new electric vehicle on the market will probably remove the option to adjust regenerative braking for the sake of efficiency.</span></p>
<h2><strong>How to Adjust Regenerative Braking on Tesla Model Y/3 and Model S/X?</strong></h2>

You just need to go to settings, then select the &#8216;Driving&#8217; menu from the left and change the &#8216;Regenerative Braking&#8217; option to &#8216;Low&#8217; for partially turning off the regen.</span></p>
<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">You won&#8217;t be able to turn off this feature. There is, however, a way to heavily limit the effects of regen braking. Here&#8217;s how:</span></p>
<h3><strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Why Does Regenerative Braking Limited on My Tesla?</span></strong></h3>
<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">If you live in a cold area or your battery is fully charged, your Tesla vehicle would warn you about the regenerative braking is being limited. That&#8217;s because the battery is unable to receive the energy from the regen system and the battery&#8217;s management system temporarily turns off the regenerative braking feature. It might take up to half an hour for your vehicle to recover from that. In order to reduce the negative effects of this limitation, you can enable an extra feature for automatically applying the brake pedals instead of regen braking. Just go to Controls &gt; Pedals &amp; Steering, then turn on the &#8216;Apply Brakes When Regenerative Braking is Limited&#8217; option.</span></p>
<h3><strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Does Regenerative Braking Work on Icy/Snowy Roads?</span></strong></h3>
<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Not being able to turn off regenerative braking might sound dangerous on icy/snowy roads, but Tesla has a solution for this. In 2022, Tesla adjusted the traction control software of its vehicles and added a hidden snow mode. Its main function is to better handle regen braking adjustments on icy roads and snow. How to Turn Off Regenerative Braking on a Tesla?

<p>Tesla vehicles are famous for their in-car entertainment experience. There are a bunch of games available for drivers to enjoy while charging their vehicles or spending some time inside the car. <p>If you want to play games with an Xbox controller on your Tesla, use a data cable (not a charge-only USB cable that lacks the data transfer function) to plug your controller into your Tesla Model 3/Y&#8217;s main screen via the USB-C ports in the center console or the USB-A port in the glove box. <p>EPA published a list of electric cars that scored the highest MPGe, which is the MPG equivalent of the EV world. <strong>Hyundai IONIQ 6 is the most efficient electric car, according to EPA</strong>. Electric sedan&#8217;s RWD Long Range version scored a 140 MPGe. The second most efficient model is the 2022&#8217;s champion, Tesla Model 3. Popular sedan&#8217;s RWD variant got an MPGe score of 132. The third most efficient electric car is also an American-made: Lucid Air. <p>This electric sedan is the most efficient of its kind, thanks to Tesla&#8217;s state-of-the-art heat pump used for thermal management of the battery pack, and highly-efficient custom design electric motors. Model 3 will increase its efficiency when Tesla update its battery with the new energy-dense 4680 cell and swap the old pack design with much lighter <a href="https://www.licarco.com/news/what-is-structural-battery-ctc-ctb-ev-battery-packs-explained">structural battery pack</a>.</p>

<p>Co-founded by a former Tesla executive, Lucid Motors has also spent millions for its customly designed battery pack and electric motors. Despite being one of the most luxurious electric vehicles on the market, Lucid Air can achieve high efficiency ratings thanks to its extremely low drag coefficient: 0.21 cd.</p>
<p>Lucid Air Grand Touring costs $154,000 in US. It is three times expensive than the more efficient Model 3. But Air offers a luxurious interior, smooth driving experience, and much higher performance.</p>

<p>The sixth generation of the Opel Corsa has been on the market since 2019 as the automaker&#8217;s first vehicle built on Stellantis underpinnings. Four years later, the supermini receives the Opel Vizor makeover, greater interior technology, a more powerful and efficient electric powertrain, and two mild-hybrid choices.</p>
<p>The Opel Vizor face with a shining black grille linking the new headlamps is the focus of the outward modifications. In terms of illumination, the optional Intelli-Lux LED matrix technology now has 14 components rather than 8. The Opel Blitz logo is available in black or matte satin silver. In addition, the revised bumper gets a set of thinner but mainly ornamental side intakes for a more aggressive appearance. The remainder of the bodywork is mostly the same, with the exception of a new Grafik Grey paint option that may be coupled with black for the roof, mirror caps, emblems, and bumper trim.</p>

A stronger model is also available with a newer, more effective electric motor that generates 154 horsepower (115 kW/156 PS) and is coupled to a larger battery pack (54 kWh, up from 50 kWh), giving it a WLTP range of 406 kilometers/252 miles. The battery can move from 20% to 80% when connected to a fast charger in 30 minutes.</p>

<p>More significantly, the Opel Corsa is the first vehicle from the manufacturer to offer mild hybrid choices. The new 1.2-liter turbocharged engine has a 48-volt system and two outputs: 99 horsepower (74 kW/100 PS) and 134 hp (100 kW/136 PS). Only along with the new six-speed dual-clutch automatic are both used.</p>
<p>Opel announced that the facelifted Corsa will eventually be offered with &#8220;efficient combustion engines&#8221; in addition to the electric alternatives. This most likely refers to the existing 134 horsepower (100 kW / 136 PS) non-electrified 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbocharged engine that is available with a six-speed manual transmission on the mechanically comparable Opel Mokka. <p>Europe is the world&#8217;s second-largest EV market after China. EV sales volume now accounts for <strong>approximately 20%</strong> of the new car market, compared to only <strong>5–6% in the US</strong>. GM used to have a presence in Europe for 90 years through its <strong>Opel</strong> and <strong>Vauxhall</strong> brands, but it battled to make a profit there. Evidently, it made a loss on its European operations for 16 consecutive years and sold both brands to <strong>Stellantis</strong>. Somehow it sells the odd <strong>Corvette</strong> or <strong>Cadillac</strong> there, but it has all but vanished from the Old Continent.</p>
<p>And yet, as the EV revolution gathers steam in the EU, General Motors CEO <strong>Mary Barra</strong> told a crowd this week, &#8220;Just around 5 years ago, we decided to sell our Opel business to what became Stellantis, so we have no seller&#8217;s remorse from an internal combustion business.&#8221; But we are considering the current opportunity for growth since we can re-enter Europe as an all-EV player. &#8220;I&#8217;m excited about that.&#8221;</p>

<p><strong>Mahmoud Samara</strong> has been appointed GM Europe&#8217;s managing director. Samara previously served as Cadillac&#8217;s North America head of sales and marketing, where he assisted in the brand&#8217;s transformation to an all-electric lineup. In Europe, his objective is to build a lucrative business &#8220;non-traditional mobility start-up&#8221; for EVs. He is also liable for autonomous vehicles, software, connectivity services, logistics, and defense.</p>
<p>It will not be easy for GM, which has no manufacturing foothold in Europe. To compete with local manufacturers like <strong>VW and Ford</strong>, GM must be ready to lose a lot of money on the way to sales and profits.</p>
<p>GM is aware of how to lose money with its European operations. The matter now is whether it knows how to make money there. The new owners of the Opel division began making money on the brand within a year of taking control, prompting some to question whether GM truly understands how to do business in Europe.</p>
<p>It still <strong>remains a myster</strong>y which electric cars GM will sell in Europe.</p>
