Mazda MX-30 is a compact electric crossover offering only 200 kilometers of range. It is the first fully electric car Mazda ever built. MX-30 has also a plug-in hybrid version.
It comes with 143 HP, 271 Nm of torque and 140 km/h top speed. It can reach 100 km per hour in 9.7 seconds. Front-wheel drive electric SUV only supports 50 kW DC charging. Its 35.5-kWh small battery pack can be charged from 20 percent to 80 percent in 36 minutes.
Mazda has been manufacturing the MX-30 Electric and the plug-in hybrid versions at its Hiroshima plant in Japan since 2019. First electric Mazda is available in the United States, UK, and Europe. It starts at around £26,000 in the UK.
<h2>Performance</h2>
Mazda offers MX-30 with a single electric motor located at the front axle. It produces 143 horsepower and 271 Nm torque. Top speed is limited to 140 km per hour and reaching 100 km/h will take 9.7 seconds. It’s one of the slowest cars on its segment, but driving experience is very smooth and comfortable.
<h2>Design and Features</h2>
Mazda didn’t choose the futuristic EV design road when designing the MX-30. It is an ordinary looking car; front and back sides are almost identical to its gas-powered sibling CX-30. BMW i3-style clamshell doors (or as some calls it the freestyle doors) definitely give the car a more energetic feeling. But rear seat passengers can’t open their windows and accessing to the rear row is not easy. Styling eliminated the practicality in this case.
It has got an 8.8-inch non-touch infotainment display which supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard. There is also a second screen for climate control, a 7-inch touch display contains large UI elements that better to use while driving.
12-speaker Bose sound system, electric front seat adjustments and sunroof all are only available on the highest trim level.
<h2>Range and Charging</h2>
Mazda provided MX-30 with a rather small battery pack, a 35.5-kWh capacity. It is enough for a range of 200 kilometers according to the WLTP testing cycle. Small electric crossover can be charge with 50 kW DC plugs. It takes 36 minutes to get from 20% to 80%. It can also be fully charged with the 6.6 kW AC on-board charger in 4.5 hours.

<h2>Overview</h2>
BMW i3 is the first fully electric BMW car. Over 200,000 i3 electric vehicles has sold worldwide since its launch in 2013. It has a carbon fiber chassis -like a super car- and uses a lot of recycled materials on the interior setup. Newest version of the vehicle, BMW i3 120 Ah has a 170 HP rear-wheel drive electric motor, while i3s version has a more powerful 184 HP drive unit. Both versions packed with the latest 42 kWh battery which is enough for 359 and 345 km of range, respectively. Latest i3 variants does support 50 kW DC charging, 0 to 80 percent in 35 minutes.
BMW already ceased production of the i3 for the US market. First purely electric BMW vehicle will be produced until sometime in 2022, but after that it will no longer be available to order. Newer EVs like BMW i4 and BMW iX will continue to carry the sustainable vehicle flag.
<h2>Performance</h2>
There are two options for this vehicle: i3 120 Ah and i3s 120 Ah. Base model i3 offers 170 horsepower, 250 Nm torque, while i3s version has 184 horsepower and 270 Nm torque. Top speeds are 150 km/h and 160 km/h, respectively. i3 can go from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.3 seconds, i3s a little bit faster in 6.9 seconds.
<h2>Design and Features</h2>
BMW i3 has the smallest kidney grille among the other BMW cars, and also it is totally closed in order to improve energy efficiency. Egg-shaped car has a very unique silhouette, it has only one full sized door on its side. Passenger door is designed as a “suicide” door, only be opened when the driver’s door is open. BMW i3 is certainly not for a back seat drive either. There isn’t much leg room in the back row and getting in and out of there is a bit of a hassle. And also, back windows are fixed. You wouldn’t be able to breath your own fresh air while enjoying the electric drive with i3 if you are the back seat occupant.
i3 has a 10-inch infotainment display running the BMW iDrive 6 operating system. It only supports the Apple CarPlay, though. No such luck for Android phone users.
Seats have manual adjustments, electronic controls are optional, as you should pay extra for most of the features that become standard nowadays. On the plus side, i3 has a little trunk in the front for the charging adapters and stuff.
<h2>Range and Charging</h2>
Both the i3 and i3s use 42 kWh, or 120 Ah lithium-ion battery pack. Ranges are 359 kilometers for the i3 and 345 kilometers for the i3s. These are all in the WLTP cycle.
50 kW DC charging became standard with the newest BMW i3 models. 0-80 percent of charge will take 45 minutes, while AC charging allows a full charge in almost three hours.

The Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD has opened orders for the Seal U model. For the 2024 model year, there is a significant reduction in prices, almost $3,000.
Having surpassed the 800,000 sales mark in three years, the Seal U will initially come to our country only with the plug-in hybrid version. This motor option stands out with a starting price of $18,000.

The BYD Seal U Has Been Launched in China with a Price Starting at $18,040

⚡ Chinese ZEEKR极氪 announced a major update to its first car, the 001, by replacing over 2,000 components.
🔋 The 2024 Zeekr 001, available with 95 and 100 kWh battery options, now features an 800V architecture. This not only boosts charging speeds up to 350 kW but also significantly enhances the vehicle’s efficiency.
🟢 Transitioning to the new-generation thermal management system called PTM 2.0 along with the battery, the 4.9-meter electric crossover can operate efficiently in both high and low temperatures.
💨 The new 001 offers a single-motor option producing 310 kW (422 HP) and a dual-motor option capable of generating 560 kW (762 HP). Hence, it’s expected to have a starting price around $40,000.
🚗 Equipped with LiDAR sensor-based autonomous driving mode, a new infotainment system powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chipset, and numerous interior design changes, the exact price of the 001 will be revealed upon its release on February 27th.

⚡#BYD has revamped its popular electric sedan Han, which sold 220,000 units last year. The 2024 version of the car has been launched in China with a starting price of $25,000.
🟢The 5-meter sedan features a base model with a 150 kW motor, a 60.48 kWh LFP battery, and 110 kW DC charging support. All models come equipped with the new Level 2+ intelligent driving system, DiPilot 100, which has been in development for over 1,000 days. Additionally, the new generation intelligent suspension system, DiSus-C, has been integrated into the 2024 model to enhance Han&#8217;s comfort.

🔋The 2024 BYD Han boasts a range of 506 km (CLTC), which extends up to 715 kilometers in the version with an 85.44 kWh battery. During today&#8217;s event, it was emphasized for the first time that the car features a silicon carbide chip inverter and an 800V architecture. However, the charging speed of the largest battery being limited to 155 kW indicates that the entire high-voltage system is not yet ready for 800V.
🚗In the performance version of the car, a dual-motor powertrain capable of producing 517 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque is used, achieving a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.9 seconds.

#Audi has introduced its first car developed on the all-electric PPE platform, the Q6 e-tron.
The Q6 e-tron, which is priced 10% cheaper than its sibling model, the Porsche Macan EV, developed on the same platform, stands out with both more compact and lightweight electric motors and a large prismatic cell-based massive battery.

Audi, using NCM811 cathode cells produced by Chinese company Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) in Germany, states that the larger cell form facilitates battery production. Additionally, it emphasizes that the newly developed smart thermal management system enhances battery life by continuously conditioning the battery and reduces charging time.
Regarding the engine, the company claims a 50% increase in efficiency compared to the first-generation electric Audis and states that it can produce more power with smaller motors by increasing power density by 62%. It should be noted that the Q6 e-tron uses an asynchronous ASM motor at the front and a permanent magnet synchronous PSM motor at the rear, differentiating it from the electric #Macan.

Audi Q6 E-Tron | 255 KM Range with a 10-Minute Charge!

🟢On March 21st, <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/company/bmw-group/" data-attribute-index="1" data-entity-type="MINI_COMPANY">BMW Group</a> will introduce its first all-electric &#8220;Neue Klasse&#8221; model as a concept. With the new platform, BMW promises vehicles that are 40% cheaper to produce and 25% more efficient!
🔋The iX3 equivalent Neue Klasse X, to be revealed next Thursday, will deliver up to 600 horsepower in its performance version. Manufactured by Chinese companies CATL and EVE, the cylindrical cells will integrate into the structural battery pack, which will be integrated into the chassis of the SUV. Additionally, with an 800V electrical architecture and BMW&#8217;s next-generation electric motors, the vehicle will gain a significant advantage in terms of range.
🚙Being the first BMW of the Neue Klasse era, the vehicle will enter series production in Hungary in the second half of 2025. It will be followed by the sedan i3, to be produced in Munich in 2026. Within the next two years, four more fully electric BMWs using the Neue Klasse platform will be launched.

BMW Unveils the Concept That Will Kick Off Its Major EV Transformation This Week!

Not one, but two new affordable BMW EVs set to make their appearance in the coming years. The German carmaker is hoping to repeat the astonishing global sales record of the <a href="https://www.licarco.com/bmw-i3-120-ah">BMW i3</a>. The entry-level BMW i1 is due in 2027 and the BMW i2 is due in 2028. These models  doesn&#8217;t seem quite close to the market, given that many automobile companies are launching their well-equipped electric vehicles every day. But they will undoubtedly be significant models for the company, which by that time will undoubtedly have a large number of next-gen EVs in its inventory.
<h2>Both Variants Will be Based on Neue Klasse Platform</h2>
Both of these variants lack rear-wheel drive, in contrast to the original i3. According to rumors, both will be based on the new Neue Klasse platform&#8217;s front-wheel drive variant. The same source also predicts the release of a redesigned iX1 in 2027, a dual-motor all-wheel drive variant might be available as well.
The 1 Series and Mini series use the same platform as the current iX1. But these new models will adopt BMW&#8217;s unique EV layout, and everything will change with the advent of Neue Klasse, designed specifically for the front, rear, and all-wheel drive vehicles. The electric car and perhaps SUV version of the Neue Klasse will appear in 2025.

<h2>Most BMW EVs are Based on ICE Vehicles: iX1, i3 Sedan, and i4</h2>
BMW currently sells a few electric vehicles, but most are based on ICE vehicles such as the <a href="https://www.licarco.com/bmw-ix1-xdrive30">iX1</a>, <a href="https://www.licarco.com/bmw-i3-sedan">i3 sedan</a>, and <a href="https://www.licarco.com/bmw-i4-edrive-40">i4</a>. That said, the iX&#8217;s platform is reportedly a hybrid in terms of the components used, and doesn&#8217;t quite reflect what the Neue Klasse platform would offer.
The body types of the i1 and i2 are yet be known. The BMW i Vision Circular concept, which resembles a future 1 series, was unveiled last year. It might be a very early i1 preview, but it&#8217;s still unlikely that the production model would seem as sophisticated as the concept.
