The Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD has opened orders for the Seal U model. For the 2024 model year, there is a significant reduction in prices, almost $3,000.
Having surpassed the 800,000 sales mark in three years, the Seal U will initially come to our country only with the plug-in hybrid version. This motor option stands out with a starting price of $18,000.

⚡ Chinese ZEEKR极氪 announced a major update to its first car, the 001, by replacing over 2,000 components.
🔋 The 2024 Zeekr 001, available with 95 and 100 kWh battery options, now features an 800V architecture. This not only boosts charging speeds up to 350 kW but also significantly enhances the vehicle’s efficiency.
🟢 Transitioning to the new-generation thermal management system called PTM 2.0 along with the battery, the 4.9-meter electric crossover can operate efficiently in both high and low temperatures.
💨 The new 001 offers a single-motor option producing 310 kW (422 HP) and a dual-motor option capable of generating 560 kW (762 HP). Hence, it’s expected to have a starting price around $40,000.
🚗 Equipped with LiDAR sensor-based autonomous driving mode, a new infotainment system powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chipset, and numerous interior design changes, the exact price of the 001 will be revealed upon its release on February 27th.

⚡#BYD has revamped its popular electric sedan Han, which sold 220,000 units last year. The 2024 version of the car has been launched in China with a starting price of $25,000.
🟢The 5-meter sedan features a base model with a 150 kW motor, a 60.48 kWh LFP battery, and 110 kW DC charging support. All models come equipped with the new Level 2+ intelligent driving system, DiPilot 100, which has been in development for over 1,000 days. Additionally, the new generation intelligent suspension system, DiSus-C, has been integrated into the 2024 model to enhance Han&#8217;s comfort.

🔋The 2024 BYD Han boasts a range of 506 km (CLTC), which extends up to 715 kilometers in the version with an 85.44 kWh battery. During today&#8217;s event, it was emphasized for the first time that the car features a silicon carbide chip inverter and an 800V architecture. However, the charging speed of the largest battery being limited to 155 kW indicates that the entire high-voltage system is not yet ready for 800V.
🚗In the performance version of the car, a dual-motor powertrain capable of producing 517 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque is used, achieving a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.9 seconds.

#Audi has introduced its first car developed on the all-electric PPE platform, the Q6 e-tron.
The Q6 e-tron, which is priced 10% cheaper than its sibling model, the Porsche Macan EV, developed on the same platform, stands out with both more compact and lightweight electric motors and a large prismatic cell-based massive battery.

Audi, using NCM811 cathode cells produced by Chinese company Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) in Germany, states that the larger cell form facilitates battery production. Additionally, it emphasizes that the newly developed smart thermal management system enhances battery life by continuously conditioning the battery and reduces charging time.
Regarding the engine, the company claims a 50% increase in efficiency compared to the first-generation electric Audis and states that it can produce more power with smaller motors by increasing power density by 62%. It should be noted that the Q6 e-tron uses an asynchronous ASM motor at the front and a permanent magnet synchronous PSM motor at the rear, differentiating it from the electric #Macan.

🟢The electric vehicle venture #HiPhi, which Saudi Arabia announced a $5.6 billion investment in last year, has halted production at its factory in Shanghai. New orders from stores are also on hold.
🚗The company introduced its first car, the HiPhi X, to customers in May 2021 and started sales in countries such as the UK and Norway last year. However, HiPhi, whose sales in China declined after 2022, had delivered an average of 500-600 vehicles in the last months of 2023.

The Chinese Luxury Electric Car Brand Has Halted Production!

🟢American electric vehicle startup Lucid Motors announced that it has developed an SUV to rival the #Tesla Model Y, after the luxury sedan Air and SUV Gravity.

5.6 Billion Dollar Investment from Chinese EV Manufacturer HiPhi

Saudi Arabia has chosen to enter the EV market by launching its own brand with Foxconn after investing substantially in Lucid.  Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman seeks to diversify the country&#8217;s economy to lessen its dependency on the oil sector.
The kingdom&#8217;s sovereign wealth fund announced this week that it would establish the Ceer electric car brand together with Foxconn of Taiwan. It will create EVs in Saudi Arabia for the first time ever.  It also designs, manufactures, and markets various vehicles for customers in the nation and the MENA area, including sedans and sports utility vehicles.

Interestingly, Saudi Arabia&#8217;s EV brand will license component technology from BMW through a joint venture with Foxconn. The future &#8220;infotainment, connection, and self-driving technology&#8221; of EVs be under Foxconn&#8217;s responsibility in the meantime. However, it is unclear at this time if the Taiwanese corporation would contribute its own funds to the joint venture.
<h2>Foxconn to Design Electrical Architecture</h2>
Foxconn will be responsible for the electrical design of the cars. Resulting in a consequence, there should be &#8220;a spectrum of goods that will pioneer in the fields of entertainment, connection, and self-driving technology.&#8221; Despite chairman Young Liu claims Foxconn and Ceer seek to make EVs widely available. Unfortunately, there is no information available on the market placement of Ceer EVs.
