<h2>Overview</h2>
BMW i3 is the first fully electric BMW car. Over 200,000 i3 electric vehicles has sold worldwide since its launch in 2013. It has a carbon fiber chassis -like a super car- and uses a lot of recycled materials on the interior setup. Newest version of the vehicle, BMW i3 120 Ah has a 170 HP rear-wheel drive electric motor, while i3s version has a more powerful 184 HP drive unit. Both versions packed with the latest 42 kWh battery which is enough for 359 and 345 km of range, respectively. Latest i3 variants does support 50 kW DC charging, 0 to 80 percent in 35 minutes.
BMW already ceased production of the i3 for the US market. First purely electric BMW vehicle will be produced until sometime in 2022, but after that it will no longer be available to order. Newer EVs like BMW i4 and BMW iX will continue to carry the sustainable vehicle flag.
<h2>Performance</h2>
There are two options for this vehicle: i3 120 Ah and i3s 120 Ah. Base model i3 offers 170 horsepower, 250 Nm torque, while i3s version has 184 horsepower and 270 Nm torque. Top speeds are 150 km/h and 160 km/h, respectively. i3 can go from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.3 seconds, i3s a little bit faster in 6.9 seconds.
<h2>Design and Features</h2>
BMW i3 has the smallest kidney grille among the other BMW cars, and also it is totally closed in order to improve energy efficiency. Egg-shaped car has a very unique silhouette, it has only one full sized door on its side. Passenger door is designed as a “suicide” door, only be opened when the driver’s door is open. BMW i3 is certainly not for a back seat drive either. There isn’t much leg room in the back row and getting in and out of there is a bit of a hassle. And also, back windows are fixed. You wouldn’t be able to breath your own fresh air while enjoying the electric drive with i3 if you are the back seat occupant.
i3 has a 10-inch infotainment display running the BMW iDrive 6 operating system. It only supports the Apple CarPlay, though. No such luck for Android phone users.
Seats have manual adjustments, electronic controls are optional, as you should pay extra for most of the features that become standard nowadays. On the plus side, i3 has a little trunk in the front for the charging adapters and stuff.
<h2>Range and Charging</h2>
Both the i3 and i3s use 42 kWh, or 120 Ah lithium-ion battery pack. Ranges are 359 kilometers for the i3 and 345 kilometers for the i3s. These are all in the WLTP cycle.
50 kW DC charging became standard with the newest BMW i3 models. 0-80 percent of charge will take 45 minutes, while AC charging allows a full charge in almost three hours.

The Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD has opened orders for the Seal U model. For the 2024 model year, there is a significant reduction in prices, almost $3,000.
Having surpassed the 800,000 sales mark in three years, the Seal U will initially come to our country only with the plug-in hybrid version. This motor option stands out with a starting price of $18,000.

The BYD Seal U Has Been Launched in China with a Price Starting at $18,040

⚡#BYD has revamped its popular electric sedan Han, which sold 220,000 units last year. The 2024 version of the car has been launched in China with a starting price of $25,000.
🟢The 5-meter sedan features a base model with a 150 kW motor, a 60.48 kWh LFP battery, and 110 kW DC charging support. All models come equipped with the new Level 2+ intelligent driving system, DiPilot 100, which has been in development for over 1,000 days. Additionally, the new generation intelligent suspension system, DiSus-C, has been integrated into the 2024 model to enhance Han&#8217;s comfort.

🔋The 2024 BYD Han boasts a range of 506 km (CLTC), which extends up to 715 kilometers in the version with an 85.44 kWh battery. During today&#8217;s event, it was emphasized for the first time that the car features a silicon carbide chip inverter and an 800V architecture. However, the charging speed of the largest battery being limited to 155 kW indicates that the entire high-voltage system is not yet ready for 800V.
🚗In the performance version of the car, a dual-motor powertrain capable of producing 517 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque is used, achieving a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.9 seconds.

The 2024 BYD Han Has Officially Been Released | Starting At $25,000

⚡ Chinese ZEEKR极氪 announced a major update to its first car, the 001, by replacing over 2,000 components.
🔋 The 2024 Zeekr 001, available with 95 and 100 kWh battery options, now features an 800V architecture. This not only boosts charging speeds up to 350 kW but also significantly enhances the vehicle’s efficiency.
🟢 Transitioning to the new-generation thermal management system called PTM 2.0 along with the battery, the 4.9-meter electric crossover can operate efficiently in both high and low temperatures.
💨 The new 001 offers a single-motor option producing 310 kW (422 HP) and a dual-motor option capable of generating 560 kW (762 HP). Hence, it’s expected to have a starting price around $40,000.
🚗 Equipped with LiDAR sensor-based autonomous driving mode, a new infotainment system powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chipset, and numerous interior design changes, the exact price of the 001 will be revealed upon its release on February 27th.

#Audi has introduced its first car developed on the all-electric PPE platform, the Q6 e-tron.
The Q6 e-tron, which is priced 10% cheaper than its sibling model, the Porsche Macan EV, developed on the same platform, stands out with both more compact and lightweight electric motors and a large prismatic cell-based massive battery.

Audi, using NCM811 cathode cells produced by Chinese company Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) in Germany, states that the larger cell form facilitates battery production. Additionally, it emphasizes that the newly developed smart thermal management system enhances battery life by continuously conditioning the battery and reduces charging time.
Regarding the engine, the company claims a 50% increase in efficiency compared to the first-generation electric Audis and states that it can produce more power with smaller motors by increasing power density by 62%. It should be noted that the Q6 e-tron uses an asynchronous ASM motor at the front and a permanent magnet synchronous PSM motor at the rear, differentiating it from the electric #Macan.

🟢Announcing that it will convert diesel mining trucks to electric in 2021 together with #ABB, #Hitachi shared that the first vehicle has been produced.
⛏️The giant truck started to be used in a copper-gold mine in Zambia. It climbs with an electrical connection that feeds the battery, similar to a trolleybus, while going to pick up load. When turning downhill while loaded, it recharges its battery thanks to regenerative braking.
🔋In this way, ABB and Hitachi completed the transformation with a smaller one instead of a megawatt-hour battery. They made this possible thanks to the regenerative braking ability of the huge electric motors seen in the prototype photo.
🔌Mining truck&#8217;s previously had a giant internal combustion engine with 16 cylinders and 2,534 horsepower. It will relatively reduce the impact of mining on the environment by ending diesel consumption and zeroing out emissions after the conversion to electric.

The Vision Neue Klasse, BMW&#8217;s most recent vehicle debut, provides a glimpse at the company&#8217;s future design and EV architecture. The feature practically consigns meter clusters to the past because it only covers the lowest third of the screen. In the design, the screen seems to display data on the speed, charge level, and range of the vehicle. We can view details about the currently playing media in the middle. A computer-desktop-like readout showing the date and time can be seen on the far right, in front of the passenger.
A 3D Head-Up Display is also available for &#8220;active driving&#8221; conditions, displaying 3D animations for turn-by-turn navigation.

BMW&#8217;s goal with the updated iDrive system is clear: as part of the attempt to reimagine the brand&#8217;s products, they view the Neue Klasse cars as vast digital interfaces. A greater degree of human-car communication is implied by the integration with the BMW Cloud and the user&#8217;s digital environment, while the emphasis on a minimalist interior is characteristic of what successful companies like Tesla have advertised.

Even though it was unconventional, the BMW i Vision Dee concept offered an early look at the appearance of BMW electric vehicles in the future. The same design is now being presented in a &#8220;Neue&#8221; form at the IAA Mobility 2023 show event in Munich, with additional elements and features that will really go into production.
The BMW Vision Neue Klasse concept has a similar overall design as the previous i Vision Dee, but it is more substantial. The front of this car is highlighted by a slanted &#8220;shark nose&#8221; hood, two lit horizontal kidney grilles, which house slanted LED running lights at each corner, and a long bumper. Several of the lighting components are featured here.
Compared to the i Vision Dee, the Neue Klasse concept has a sportier appearance. New 21-inch wheels replace the neon green dinner plates while also paying homage to the traditional cross-spoke style featured on BMW racing vehicles. The kidney-grille and headlight combination on the front end is mimicked by the extended taillights, and BMW&#8217;s new minimalist emblem is printed onto the front and rear fenders; there isn&#8217;t a single metal badge to be spotted.
<h2>High Efficiency and Faster Charging</h2>
The sleekness of the design, which BMW calls &#8220;monolithic,&#8221; results in a 30 percent longer range and a 25 percent higher efficiency than any of the automaker&#8217;s current EVs. The Neue Klasse concept offers 20 percent higher density, 25 percent more efficiency, and 30 percent faster charging when combined with BMW&#8217;s sixth-generation eDrive technology.

Although specific range figures aren&#8217;t given, BMW previously indicated that a range of up to 621 miles (1,001 kilometers) is not out of the question. BMW&#8217;s facility in Debrecen, Hungary, which is now under development and claims to be fossil fuel-free, will produce the new eDrive technology.
The iDrive infotainment system from BMW is housed inside the Neue Klasse and is shown on a quirky touchscreen that resembles a parallelogram. In addition to continuing to provide existing features like the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant and multifunction steering wheel buttons, BMW is now adding &#8220;Panoramic Vision.&#8221;

The BMW Neue Klasse will start manufacturing in 2025 at BMW&#8217;s factory in Debrecen, Hungary, and the EV is scheduled to be in use by 2026. When the entire production version is released, information on the cost, operating range, and charging will be made available.

The brand-new 2024 5 Series from BMW has been launched, and for the first time, the executive sedan is available in a completely electric version named the i5. The BMW i5 EV and 5 Series ICE cars share many visual cues and reflect the brand&#8217;s newest design language, with a few minor exceptions.
The i5 adopts the traditional three-box shape with a long hood and Hofmeister kink, as well as the brand&#8217;s distinguishing twin headlamps and kidney grille (which is optionally lighted). The sleek bumpers and flat LED taillights are particularly noteworthy. When compared to the i7 sedan or the XM SUV, BMW has taken the safe route in terms of aesthetics.
With measurements of 199.2 inches in length (+3.4 in), 74.8 inches in width (+1.3 in), and 59.6 inches in height (+1.4 in), the new 5 Series is larger than its forerunner. The newest version of iDrive, BMW Operating System 8.5, which has a redesigned visual display with a clear start screen and QuickSelect access for straightforward touch operation, controls the BMW Curved Display. In addition to utilizing the buttons on the steering wheel and the BMW iDrive Controller in the center console, drivers may primarily use the touch screen and voice commands to manage the system.
Seam vents rather than traditional air vents and a redesigned gear selector switch on the center console control panel are other improvements. The BMW Interaction Bar, which has ambient lighting in the instrument panel and door area, My Modes for a personalized driving and interior experience, and seam vents are other advancements. Optional features include gesture control with BMW Natural Interaction and the BMW Head-Up display.
<h2>Up To 475Kilometers-295 Miles Of Range</h2>
The internal combustion, mild hybrid, and plug-in hybrid 5 Series vehicles all share the CLAR flexible drive architecture, which also serves as the foundation for the BMW i5.
The eDrive40 single-motor RWD variation and the M60 xDrive AWD performance model will be the two model variants of the BMW i5 that will be offered at its global debut in October 2023.

2024 BMW i5 eDrive40
Both models use BMW eDrive technology from the fifth generation, with motors that are touted to be incredibly powerful and efficient. When the Sport Boost or Lanch Control feature is used, the BMW i5 eDrive40 produces 335 horsepower and 295 pound-feet (400 Newton-meters) of torque, or 317 lb-ft (429 Nm).

With an electronically regulated peak speed of 193 kph/120 mph, this allows the entry-level vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds.
A high-voltage battery that has a combined useable capacity of 84.3 kilowatt-hours and is made up of 4 modules with 72 battery cells each and 3 modules with 12 cells each power both variations.
The battery allows a driving range of 256 miles for the i5 M60 xDrive or 295 miles for the i5 eDrive40 on standard 19-inch wheels. Based on the EPA&#8217;s test process guidelines, BMW estimates the range ratings.
