<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Regenerative braking technology is a bliss for the efficiency of <a href="https://www.licarco.com/cars">all-electric vehicles</a>. But it takes time to get used to this helpful feature. Sometimes it gets annoying or makes no sense on some occasions. There is an option to turn it off, but things get complicated with <a href="https://www.licarco.com/news/how-many-tesla-cars-have-been-sold">Tesla vehicles</a>. Let us explain.</span></p>
<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true">If you want to turn off regenerative braking on your Tesla, you probably won&#8217;t find any disabling option in the menu. Because turning off regenerative braking is not possible on a Tesla. It is also impossible to adjust the regen on Tesla vehicles built since Q2 2020</span></strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true">. Tesla Model S/3/X/Y vehicles built before that date can still be able to offer adjustments. <p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Newer Tesla vehicles come with standard level regen as default. There is no &#8216;Regenerative Braking&#8217; adjustment option anymore. So, why wouldn&#8217;t Tesla allow its drivers to adjust regenerative braking? The main reason is that the vehicle range is heavily affected by not being able to recuperate the energy you otherwise lost to heat, etc by pressing the brake pedal. Other automakers agree with Tesla as well. According to </span><a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://electrek.co/2018/08/08/audi-e-tron-quattro-electric-suv-range-regen-braking/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Audi</span></a><span data-preserver-spaces="true">, regenerative braking can extend the range by up to 30% on average. Soon, every new electric vehicle on the market will probably remove the option to adjust regenerative braking for the sake of efficiency.</span></p>
<h2><strong>How to Adjust Regenerative Braking on Tesla Model Y/3 and Model S/X?</strong></h2>

You just need to go to settings, then select the &#8216;Driving&#8217; menu from the left and change the &#8216;Regenerative Braking&#8217; option to &#8216;Low&#8217; for partially turning off the regen.</span></p>
<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">You won&#8217;t be able to turn off this feature. There is, however, a way to heavily limit the effects of regen braking. Here&#8217;s how:</span></p>
<h3><strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Why Does Regenerative Braking Limited on My Tesla?</span></strong></h3>
<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">If you live in a cold area or your battery is fully charged, your Tesla vehicle would warn you about the regenerative braking is being limited. That&#8217;s because the battery is unable to receive the energy from the regen system and the battery&#8217;s management system temporarily turns off the regenerative braking feature. It might take up to half an hour for your vehicle to recover from that. In order to reduce the negative effects of this limitation, you can enable an extra feature for automatically applying the brake pedals instead of regen braking. Just go to Controls &gt; Pedals &amp; Steering, then turn on the &#8216;Apply Brakes When Regenerative Braking is Limited&#8217; option.</span></p>
<h3><strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Does Regenerative Braking Work on Icy/Snowy Roads?</span></strong></h3>
<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Not being able to turn off regenerative braking might sound dangerous on icy/snowy roads, but Tesla has a solution for this. In 2022, Tesla adjusted the traction control software of its vehicles and added a hidden snow mode. Its main function is to better handle regen braking adjustments on icy roads and snow. How to Turn Off Regenerative Braking on a Tesla?

<p>Tesla vehicles are famous for their in-car entertainment experience. There are a bunch of games available for drivers to enjoy while charging their vehicles or spending some time inside the car. You can even use a game controller for better experience. A couple of games will also require you to connect a controller to play.</p>
<p>In this article, we created a guide to help you easily connect your Xbox controller to your Tesla Model 3/Y.</p>
<h2><strong>A Complete Guide to Connecting an Xbox Controller to Tesla Model 3/Y</strong></h2>
<p>If you want to play games with an Xbox controller on your Tesla, use a data cable (not a charge-only USB cable that lacks the data transfer function) to plug your controller into your Tesla Model 3/Y&#8217;s main screen via the USB-C ports in the center console or the USB-A port in the glove box. If you prefer a wireless connection, or your controller cannot be connected to your Tesla via cable, just follow our guide down below.</p>

<p><strong>Step 5</strong>. Once the wireless adapter and Xbox controller ared paired up, the lights on both of these devices will stop blinking. You will see a notification message on your Tesla&#8217;s screen that confirms the pairing.</p>

<p>EPA published a list of electric cars that scored the highest MPGe, which is the MPG equivalent of the EV world. <strong>Hyundai IONIQ 6 is the most efficient electric car, according to EPA</strong>. Electric sedan&#8217;s RWD Long Range version scored a 140 MPGe. The second most efficient model is the 2022&#8217;s champion, Tesla Model 3. Popular sedan&#8217;s RWD variant got an MPGe score of 132. The third most efficient electric car is also an American-made: Lucid Air. Another Tesla vehicle, Model Y got the fourth place in EPA&#8217;s most efficient EVs ranking. Tesla&#8217;s all four models made it into the list. <p>Tesla Model 3 RWD version scored the second best MPGe. It is also the highest MPGe among 2022 model electric vehicles. It can travel 3.91 miles per kWh. Model 3&#8217;s combined energy consumption is 15.8 kWh per 62 miles (100 km).</p>
<p>This electric sedan is the most efficient of its kind, thanks to Tesla&#8217;s state-of-the-art heat pump used for thermal management of the battery pack, and highly-efficient custom design electric motors. Model 3 will increase its efficiency when Tesla update its battery with the new energy-dense 4680 cell and swap the old pack design with much lighter <a href="https://www.licarco.com/news/what-is-structural-battery-ctc-ctb-ev-battery-packs-explained">structural battery pack</a>.</p>

<p>Co-founded by a former Tesla executive, Lucid Motors has also spent millions for its customly designed battery pack and electric motors. Despite being one of the most luxurious electric vehicles on the market, Lucid Air can achieve high efficiency ratings thanks to its extremely low drag coefficient: 0.21 cd.</p>
<p>Lucid Air Grand Touring costs $154,000 in US. It is three times expensive than the more efficient Model 3. But Air offers a luxurious interior, smooth driving experience, and much higher performance.</p>

<p>Tesla Model Y RWD is the third best in the EPA&#8217;s list. It got an MPGe score of 129, which means Model Y can travel 3.82 miles for every kWh it consumes. Mid-size electric SUV comes with the standard battery pack with 2170 cells. AWD version features a structural battery pack, which is filled with larger 4680 cells.
