Just like the E-3008, the E-5008 will initially be equipped with battery packs using NCM622 cells supplied by BYD. However, it will soon switch to a higher energy density pack produced by ACC, featuring NCM811 cathode chemistry.
Launched with a 400V electrical architecture, the electric 5008 supports 160 kW DC and 11 kW AC charging. It can charge from 20% to 80% in 30 minutes.
The new 5008 is 15 cm longer than the previous generation and offers 748 liters of trunk space in the 5-seat configuration, or 289 liters with all 7 seats in use. The large SUV will come with two rear-wheel-drive options producing 214 and 231 HP, as well as a 322 HP all-wheel-drive variant. Mass production will take place in France.
We can expect to see the new 5008 in Europe—and likely in Turkey—this autumn.
