    About Honda e Advance

Honda e is a premium electric hatchback launched in 2020. It has been available to European countries and Japan since then. Even though it is a compact EV with a very little battery, Honda e carries a hefty price tag, starting at around €35,000.

The compact EV comes with two power options: 136 HP standard version, and the Honda e Advance with 154 HP. 35.5 kWh battery officially offers a range around 220 km (140 miles). 50 kW DC rapid chargers can charge this small battery from 0 percent to 80 percent in 30 minutes. Fully charging the Honda e with AC plugs will take only 4 hours.

Honda styled the “e” with a retro design similar to the first Honda Civic. Electric hatchback is currently being built at Saitama factory in Japan. Honda sold more than 10,000 e and e Advance models in Europe last year despite the fact that it is slightly overpriced.

    Performance

Honda e is an electric car with a very little battery. But small battery means a lighter car and a lighter car means more fun to drive. Standard model can produce 136 horsepower and 310 Nm torque. Honda e Advance is a bit more powerful at 154 HP with the same torque.

All versions of the Honda e are rear-wheel drive. 0 to 100 km/h performance is 9 seconds straight, while e Advance manages to reach the same speed in 8.3 seconds. Steering feels really quick, though. It somehow manages to be quicker than similarly sized compact vehicles.

    Design and Features

Honda e has a cute little face. It has very dynamic LED headlights. Front end of the small electric car is fully closed, and door handles are completely flush. Japanese automaker designed the “e” in this way to maximize its range.

Both side mirrors of the Honda e are actually cameras, there are two 6-inch displays on the inside streaming directly from these sensors that replace the ordinary and boring mirrors. Rear view mirror is also a display which plays the rear camera feed. Honda really tried its best to get rid of those old mirrors.

There is a full-sized power outlet which is capable of powering electronics up to 1500W. There are couple of USB ports, and aside from those there is also an HDMI port. Yes, you can connect your computer (or a PlayStation!) directly to the infotainment display.

There is an 8.8-inch digital gauge cluster that shows most of the necessary stuff. There are also two 12.3-inch touchscreens acting as the infotainment system. These screens can work independently, front side passenger can enjoy what he/she desires without distracting the driver.

Charging ports are unusually located on the hood, probably for easy access from a charger. Piano black finish of the charging door definitely gives the car a unique front look.

    Range and Charging

All version of the Honda e and Honda e Advance come with the same 35.5 kWh battery pack. It can be charged from %0 to %80 in half an hour via 50 kW DC rapid charging. Fully charging the car in your house will take only around 4 hours, as it has a very little battery.
