<p>MG ZS EV is the mid-range fully electric SUV that comes from China where it produced by SAIC Motors. This is the first MG branded vehicle available in Europe for over a decade. MG ZS EV offers a 143 HP single electric motor, 44.5 kWh battery and 263 kilometers of range when fully charged. It is one of the most affordable electric cars in the continent, starting at 26,095 pounds.</p>
<p>This Chinese electric SUV is currently being sold in the UK, Germany, Netherland, Australia, Turkey and so on. Prices may vary depending on the country’s EV tax incentives.</p>
<h2><strong><u>Performance</u></strong></h2>
<p>ZS EV has one electric motor on the front, producing 143 horsepower and 353 Nm of torque. 0 to 100 km/h acceleration performance is around 8.2 seconds. The platform that ZS EV manufactured is not purely EV-intended, the vehicle operates very well with an electric drive unit and a heavy battery placed underneath the floor.</p>
<p>Top speed of the vehicle is 140 km/h, and it supports adaptive cruise control. There is no other engine option for this model year, but it might get much powerful versions in the near future.</p>
<h2><strong><u>Design and Features</u></strong></h2>
<p>ZS EV has a big MG logo on its front grille, a very wide grille that is not fully closed as it is very popular with other EVs. MG logo on the grille also hides the charging port for the vehicle.</p>
<p>Interior of the ZS EV looks very modern and neat, nothing out of the ordinary. Back seats are very roomy, floor is not too high compared to other electric SUVs. There is a small screen at the center of the gauge cluster and also a much bigger 8-inch infotainment touch screen.</p>
<p>Infotainment system in the ZS EV is not very smooth, but it does support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto unlike some other Chinese brand vehicles like Seres 3 and Hongqi E-HS3.</p>
<p>Heated front seats, two USB ports, optional panoramic sunroof are some other features that MG ZS EV has.</p>
<h2><strong><u>Range and Charging</u></strong></h2>
<p>MG ZS EV carries a 44.5 kWh battery pack, relatively small unit. But it can run 263 kilometers on a single charge. WLTP range is way lower at ~150 km and at this price range it is very acceptable. However, due to the lack of a heating system in the battery pack, cold weathers will affect the range very deeply.</p>
<p>The car supports DC fast charging at a rate of 100 kW, but real-world tests show that it can only go as high as 76 kW with public DC charging plugs. 0-80 percent of charge in 40 minutes and AC charging will top up the battery in 6.5 hours.</p>
<h3><strong>Where is MG ZS EV Made?</strong></h3>
<p>MG ZS EV is made in China, manufactured by the Chinese automaker SAIC Motors. Although originally MG brand belongs to a British carmaker, in 2005 it was sold to a Chinese firm which later bought by SAIC Motors.</p>

<p>BYD gave its popular electric SUV Song Plus EV a proper facelift in 2023. The all-new Song Plus EV features aggressive design lines both on the front and the back of the vehicle. On the inside, the &#8216;Song&#8217; logo is no longer with us. Instead, BYD puts its own brand emblem onto the steering wheel.<br />
The new Song Plus EV is based on BYD&#8217;s e-platform 3.0 featuring a cell-to-body battery pack and 8-in-1 electric drive unit. Thanks to these two features, BYD&#8217;s electric SUV is now more efficient than ever.</p>

<h2><strong><u>Overview</u></strong></h2>
<p>BMW i3 is the first fully electric BMW car. Over 200,000 i3 electric vehicles has sold worldwide since its launch in 2013. It has a carbon fiber chassis -like a super car- and uses a lot of recycled materials on the interior setup. Newest version of the vehicle, BMW i3 120 Ah has a 170 HP rear-wheel drive electric motor, while i3s version has a more powerful 184 HP drive unit. Both versions packed with the latest 42 kWh battery which is enough for 359 and 345 km of range, respectively. Latest i3 variants does support 50 kW DC charging, 0 to 80 percent in 35 minutes.</p>
<p>BMW already ceased production of the i3 for the US market. First purely electric BMW vehicle will be produced until sometime in 2022, but after that it will no longer be available to order. Newer EVs like BMW i4 and BMW iX will continue to carry the sustainable vehicle flag.</p>
<h2><strong><u>Performance</u></strong></h2>
<p>There are two options for this vehicle: i3 120 Ah and i3s 120 Ah. Base model i3 offers 170 horsepower, 250 Nm torque, while i3s version has 184 horsepower and 270 Nm torque. Top speeds are 150 km/h and 160 km/h, respectively. i3 can go from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.3 seconds, i3s a little bit faster in 6.9 seconds.</p>
<h2><strong><u>Design and Features</u></strong></h2>
<p>BMW i3 has the smallest kidney grille among the other BMW cars, and also it is totally closed in order to improve energy efficiency. Egg-shaped car has a very unique silhouette, it has only one full sized door on its side. Passenger door is designed as a “suicide” door, only be opened when the driver’s door is open. BMW i3 is certainly not for a back seat drive either. There isn’t much leg room in the back row and getting in and out of there is a bit of a hassle. And also, back windows are fixed. You wouldn’t be able to breath your own fresh air while enjoying the electric drive with i3 if you are the back seat occupant.</p>
<p>i3 has a 10-inch infotainment display running the BMW iDrive 6 operating system. It only supports the Apple CarPlay, though. No such luck for Android phone users.</p>
<p>Seats have manual adjustments, electronic controls are optional, as you should pay extra for most of the features that become standard nowadays. On the plus side, i3 has a little trunk in the front for the charging adapters and stuff.</p>
<h2><strong><u>Range and Charging</u></strong></h2>
<p>Both the i3 and i3s use 42 kWh, or 120 Ah lithium-ion battery pack. Ranges are 359 kilometers for the i3 and 345 kilometers for the i3s. These are all in the WLTP cycle.</p>
<p>50 kW DC charging became standard with the newest BMW i3 models. 0-80 percent of charge will take 45 minutes, while AC charging allows a full charge in almost three hours.</p>

Swedish EV maker&#8217;s second SUV is based on SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) co-developed by Geely and Volvo. It&#8217;s 4,8 meters long and 2,1 meters wide, including side mirrors. The wheelbase of the Polestar 4 is at 2,999 millimeters.<br />
The heat pump, 22-kW AC charging and V2L (vehicle-to-load) capability are fitted as standard. Its infotainment system is powered by Google&#8217;s Android Automotive OS. Polestar 4&#8217;s US launch is planned for early 2024.<br />

<p><strong>BYD Song Plus EV</strong> is the fully electric version of the Chinese automaker&#8217;s popular mid-size SUV. It has launched onto the market in April 2021. Song Plus is the brand&#8217;s second model that carries its latest design iteration &#8216;Dragon Face 3.0&#8217;. It is currently being built at BYD&#8217;s Xi&#8217;an factory alongside the hybrid Song Plus DM-i in China. Song Plus EV pricing starts at around $27,500 in its home country.<br />
BYD uses its proprietary lithium-ion battery cell technology called &#8216;Blade Battery&#8217; inside the Song Plus EV&#8217;s 71.7-kWh battery pack. These battery cells are made of LFP cathodes and tend to be safer, cheaper, and durable. Song Plus EV can be charged from 0 to 100 percent in 74 minutes, thanks to its support for up to 90 kW DC charging speeds.<br />
There is a 12.8-inch infotainment display that can be used both horizontally and vertically. The central touchscreen will automatically rotate when the driver changes the position. DiLink 3.0 software offers many applications such as Wechat,   TikTok, YouKu, etc.<br />

<p>The electric coupe NIO EC7 officially debuted at the Chinese EV maker&#8217;s highly-anticipated NIO DAY event in December 2022. It is based on the NT 2.0 platform, which is much better at creating more aerodynamic vehicles. EC7, with its drag coefficient of 0.230 Cd, is one of the most aerodynamic SUVs in the world.<br />
NIO claims that EC7 drivers can get a range of 940 kilometers with the 150-kWh solid-state battery pack option. Regular packs, such as the popular 100-kWh version is also very good at delivering a long range, its CLTC estimate is 635 kilometers.<br />
There is a set of sensor on top of the EC7, including a LiDAR unit. Fully-electric vehicle will also take advantage of the second generation digital cockpit, which is based on the latest version of the NIO&#8217;s operating system called Banyan.<br />

<p>Alibaba-backed Chinese EV startup IM Motors unveiled its second vehicle: IM Motors LS7. This luxury SUV will feature a yoke steering, very similiar to <a href="https://www.licarco.com/2021-tesla-model-s-plaid">Tesla Model S</a> and <a href="https://www.licarco.com/tesla-model-x-plaid">Model X</a>.<br />
IM Motors LS7 was officially launched in February 2023. EV-maker delivered its first SUVs in March 2023.<br />
Apart from being one of the most aerodynamic electric SUVs on the market, IM LS7 features three touchscreens inside the cabin, a digital gauge cluster, a main infotainment system, and a passenger screen. Thanks to 100% foldable seat design, LS7 offers its back seat passengers a spacious experience.<br />

<p>Seres 3 is a budget-friendly electric SUV manufactured in China by the Chinese automaker DFSK (Dongfeng Sokon Automobile). It can produce 161 HP with its single electric motor sitting in the front. Seres 3 can go 405 kilometers when fully charged and it is in the €35,000 price range.</p>
<p>Battery electric SUV Seres 3 is available in Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, and Turkey right now. The firm has been planning to expand its market to other European countries in the near future.</p>
<p>In China, Seres 3 sold as Fengon E3 and there is a combustion engine version of the vehicle, as well. Starting price is 139,800 yuan (~$21,500).</p>
<h2><strong><u>Performance</u></strong></h2>
<p>Front-wheel drive Seres 3’s acceleration is very average, 0-100 km/h in 8.9 sec. Electric motor produces 161 HP and 300 Nm of torque, top speed is 160 km per hour.</p>
<p>The vehicle platform originally designed for combustion engine cars. That being said, Seres 3 could more of a BMW iX3 style EV other than a purely electric car like the Teslas. So, its driving experience is also not much different than its Chinese counterpart with petrol engine.</p>
<h2><strong><u>Design and Features</u></strong></h2>
<p>Seres 3’s central console is very similar to Mercedes EQA, air vents and infotainment screen look like they belong to a German car. And also, blue stitches around the edges of the synthetic leather constantly reminding that this is a fully electric vehicle.</p>
<p>Apple CarPlay and Android Auto doesn’t support by the Seres’s own infotainment system, but at least you can mirror your smartphone’s screen to the center display.</p>
<p>Mid-size crossover has 360-degree view mode, thanks to the cameras all around the car. These cameras are also capable of recording driving sessions, in case of an accident etc.</p>
<p>The floor of the electric SUV is flat, but the rear seats are pretty low, and that’s not the most comfortable sitting arrangement for the passengers.</p>
<h2><strong><u>Range and Charging</u></strong></h2>
<p>According to NEDC standard, Seres 3 can travel 405 km with a fully charged battery while more realistic WLTP standard gave this car 300 kilometers of range. 52.5 kWh battery can be charged with DC plugs at up to 100 kW charging speeds. On-board 6.6 kW AC charging will full load the battery in 8 hours.</p>
