Fully electric sedan #BMW i5 unveiled!

The BMW 5 Series' first fully electric car has been officially introduced. The mid-to-upper segment sedan, available in two versions—BMW i5 eDrive40 and M60 xDrive—comes with both single and dual motor options.

Set to hit the market this year, the rear-wheel-drive BMW i5 eDrive40 delivers 340 horsepower and 430 Nm of torque. The all-wheel-drive i5 M60 xDrive, with its dual motors, achieves 601 horsepower and 820 Nm of torque, offering a top speed of 230 km/h and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. The eDrive40 model achieves 0-100 km/h in 6.0 seconds.

Thanks to an advanced thermal management system with a heat pump, the i5 is expected to experience minimal range loss in winter, utilizing a battery pack with a usable capacity of 81.2 kWh. The range is specified as 582 km for the i5 eDrive40 and 516 km for the dual-motor M60 xDrive.

In October 2023, the BMW i5, available in electric, gasoline/diesel, and mild hybrid versions, will go on sale. Series production will begin in the summer at the company’s Dingolfing factory in Germany.

The BMW i5’s European price starts at 70,200 #euro. In Turkey, the vehicle is expected to fall within the 60% special consumption tax bracket, with a price planned to exceed 4 million lira. The starting price in Turkey for the BMW i4, positioned just below the i5, is around 3.4 million lira.
