Xpeng P7, Chinese automaker’s popular alternative to Tesla Model 3, got a mid-cycle refresh. The all-new 2023 Xpeng P7i looks almost identical to the previous version, but it’s not short of new features.
First of all, P7i comes with a brand-new 86.2-kWh battery pack supplied by CALB. Compared to CATL-made old 81-kWh pack, this one offers a unique safety feature that prevents Xpeng P7i to catch fire when the battery got damaged. It also enables Xpeng to offer higher DC charging rates at 170 kW, compared to 90 kW.
