Although over 70% of global electric truck sales occur in China, Western manufacturers like Volvo are keeping pace with the transition.
Volvo, which launched its first electric truck in 2019, announced it has exceeded 5,000 sales. The Swedish company offers eight electric vehicles tailored to various needs.
While 5,000 electric truck sales over five years may not seem like a major milestone for Volvo, which sold 134,000 trucks in 2024, the increasing investment in megawatt charging units and the establishment of battery swap stations for trucks, as seen in China, is expected to accelerate the electric transition in America and Europe.
Volvo notes that its largest customers are in Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden.
