Toyota's 1,000 km range battery has been delayed!

The company, which announced in the same year that it would sell 1.5 million electric vehicles by 2026, reduced this target to 1 million in 2024 and then to 800,000 this year. Last year, Toyota managed to sell only 140,000 electric vehicles.

Two years ago, Toyota published an ambitious roadmap regarding batteries, and its 1,000 km promise had also resonated in our country. However, neither the technology for these batteries has been developed nor has construction begun on the factory planned for Japan.

Yesterday, Toyota CEO Koji Sato met with officials in Fukuoka, Japan, where the battery factory is to be established, and expressed hope that the signing ceremony for the factory would take place in the fall. It seems unlikely that the facility, which is expected to begin mass production in 2028, will become operational before 2030.
