The new Nissan Leaf will come with two NMC battery options—52.9 kWh and 75.1 kWh—produced by Chinese company AESC. It will enter series production next year at Nissan’s Sunderland factory in the UK, with first deliveries expected in spring 2026.

Production of the previous Leaf was discontinued a year ago. With new investments in the Sunderland facility, Nissan will use the CMF-EV platform to produce not only the third-generation Leaf but also electric versions of the Qashqai and Juke models. The company hopes to overcome its ongoing financial crisis with these competitive models.
