The EV2, the new member of the electric vehicle family of the famous vehicle manufacturer Kia, is expected to be launched with a price of 25k pounds.
Kia is adding a new player to the competition in the field of electric vehicles!
The Kia EV2, which will be launched in 2026 at a price of £25,000 (around $30,000), was confirmed at the company’s first-ever electric vehicle event in South Korea.
While Kia’s electric vehicle day events focused on the production of the EV5, EV4, and EV3 concepts, the company confirmed that an even smaller electric vehicle model dubbed the EV2, is on the way, as expected. According to Kia CEO Ho Sung Song, the EV2 will be an important part of the company’s global goal of selling 1.6 million vehicles per year by 2030.
Song declined to give any specific details about the EV2 at the event but said it was a “very important” vehicle for Europe and emerging markets. Kia’s CEO noted that the EV2 is expected to be the company’s lowest-priced electric vehicle and that the vehicles will be produced at the company’s plant in Slovakia.
Kia, which is trying to localize electric vehicle production in the United States, said all of its future electric vehicles will be built on the E-GMP platform, which underpins the Kia EV6 and EV9, as well as vehicles from sister companies such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6 and Genesis GV60.
