Elon Musk, on multiple occasions, stated that Cybertruck is a tremendously hard to make vehicle and its mass production will be a true challenge for Tesla. Customers from all around the world have been waiting for this EV to come out since 2019.

According to multiple tracking sources, Tesla Cybertruck orders surpassed 1,7 million in early 2023. When we look at the timeline here, it’s clear that Tesla has been receiving Cybertruck pre-orders steadily for the last four years. Cybertruck orders first opened in November 21st, 2019. Texas-based automaker received over 250,000 pre-orders within a week of unveiling. Around August 2020, the amount of orders reached the 1,000,000 mark, in less than ten months!
Why Are There So Many Cybertruck Pre-orders?
Apart from Cybertruck’s unprecedented popularity, there are two other reasons why almost two million customer order this vehicle. The first one is the reservation fee, which is a mere $100 and it’s refundable. The second one is the number of countries available for reserving a Cybertruck. Tesla intentionally opened orders for almost all regions, whether its sales operation exists or not. That made Cybertruck orders went over the roof.
Now in 2023, Tesla is getting ready to start producing Cybertruck in United States, without worrying that its weird-looking truck could flop. Because millions of people around the world waiting for the launch day to come.
