The Geely EX5 played a significant role in the nearly 50% drop in BYD Atto 3 sales in China.
The 4.6-meter electric SUV is now coming to Europe. Priced lower than its rival BYD while offering a larger size and more features, the Geely EX5 will be available in Greece, followed by Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and by year-end, the UK. Sold for $18,000 in China, the long-range EX5 retails for around $26,000 in Australia.
In Europe, due to a 28.8% customs duty, it’s expected to exceed €30,000. Equipped with a 160 kW motor, a 60.2 kWh LFP battery integrated into the chassis, a 430 km WLTP range, 28-minute 10-80% charging, 100 kW DC, 11 kW AC, a heat pump thermal management system, and a Geely operating system with standard internet connectivity, the vehicle boasts a 0.269 Cd drag coefficient, making it one of the most aerodynamic models in its class.
Developed on the GEA platform and introduced in 2024 as the first global vehicle under Geely’s Galaxy sub-brand, the EX5 is also produced and sold in Malaysia under the Proton brand.
