Fully Electric Volvo EX30 Small SUV

The EX30, a forthcoming compact, totally electric SUV from Volvo, has a new teaser video that offers a more detailed look at the car. The EX30 will be formally demonstrated on June 7th, the company has also announced. Online patent photographs of the EV’s external design have also appeared, giving a thorough overview of the car’s complete look.

The EX90 flagship and the smallest SUV in Volvo’s expanding lineup were originally revealed in November 2022. It naturally takes many stylistic influences from its older brother, but it also has a chunkier, sportier, and more fun appearance to keep up with competitive vehicles.

The split taillights, pixel-style headlamps, and general surfacing are shared characteristics between the EX30 and the EX90. On the other hand, the EX30 resembles the somewhat bigger XC40 in terms of its small footprint, dimensions, and greenhouse. The bodywork is more sculpted than the typical Volvo, with the clamshell bonnet’s closed lines emphasizing the toned-up fenders.

Single And Dual Electric Motors Will Be Options

The modular SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) platform from Geely, which already supports SUVs of a size comparable to the Smart #1 and Zeekr X, is believed to be used as the basis for the Volvo EX30. Both single and dual electric motors, as well as battery packs with various capacities, will probably be options.

The EX30 was described as “really important” for the brand earlier this year when Volvo CEO Jim Rowan spoke about it. He stated that it will be provided at a “really nice price point,” while being “very safe,” with a “decent range,” and “high quality” at a “good size.” As it focuses on online sales and suggests a new subscription-based ownership plan with a three-month commitment, Volvo is hoping that the release of its new entry-level SUV will help the company connect with younger customers.

We will be on the lookout for additional teases and updates as the manufacturer promised “a lot more details” regarding the EX30 in the upcoming weeks. The Volvo EX30 will start taking pre-orders in a few locations on June 7, the day of its debut, it was also revealed. China will be the location of production.
