CATL, the world's largest battery manufacturer, unveiled a new solution to rival BYD. The second-generation Shenxing battery promises 520 km of range with a 5-minute charge.
Capable of reaching 75 km in just 30 seconds, this battery supports a 1,300 kW charging speed and enables vehicles to travel 800 km on a single charge.
Even more impressive, at -10°C, it can charge from 5% to 80% in just 15 minutes.
Thanks to a newly developed anode material, CATL enables ultra-fast charging and states that increased energy density makes it possible to store 180 kWh in an electric vehicle with a 3-meter wheelbase.
Vehicles with the second-generation CATL Shenxing battery will officially hit the market in the coming months.
