BYD has begun installing 1,000 kW charging stations capable of charging its next-generation vehicles in just 5 minutes. The first of these ultra-fast devices was launched at a Sinopec station in Shenzhen, owned by the Chinese oil giant.
With over 20,000 fuel stations expected to close by 2030 in China, the transition from fuel to charging is accelerating rapidly. In this context, BYD has partnered with Sinopec, installing its charging units right next to fuel stations.
Planning to establish over 4,000 stations offering megawatt-level charging, BYD, despite entering the charging sector late, aims for rapid growth through its self-developed devices and strategic partnerships.
