Known for its budget-friendly electric cars, BYD is also developing ultra-luxury vehicles. Its specialized subsidiary, Yangwang, has officially launched the U9 model in China.
The U9, with 80% of its body made from carbon fiber, is both lighter and more robust. Its four-motor setup promises exceptional driving performance.
With an intelligent suspension system DiSus-X boasting a 40 millisecond response time, BYD claims the U9 can maintain stability even with a missing wheel.
Optionally available with an active diffuser and a massive spoiler providing 280 kg of downforce, adding approximately $14,000 to the cost.
Featuring a 5G modem developed in collaboration with Qualcomm using a 4 nm manufacturing process, the BYD Yangwang U9 is equipped with a connected car and active driving safety features. It’s said to mitigate injury risks by raising the suspension on the impact side during accidents.
Deliveries of the all-electric Yangwang U9 will commence in China soon, with plans for its subsidiary to enter the European market.
