A major collaboration at battery stations that provide a full charge in three minutes!

CATL, the world's largest battery manufacturer, and NIO, which operates over 3,000 battery swap stations, have decided to merge their platforms.

CATL, which will produce its own swappable battery packs and establish stations, has also integrated NIO into the battery swap ecosystem. To date, agreements have been made with brands such as SAIC, GAC, BAIC, Wuling, Geely, and Chery for the production of cars with swappable batteries.

Under the new collaboration, it has been announced that the first vehicle to be equipped with a swappable battery pack designed by CATL will be the affordable NIO Firefly.

NIO, which uses CATL cells in nearly all of its vehicles, will now align with CATL standards in pack design as well. This will allow NIO drivers to utilize thousands of swap stations established by battery giant CATL and its other partners. However, how compatibility will be ensured with existing battery packs and swap stations remains a matter of curiosity.
