#Toyota has renewed the first electric sedan bZ3, developed together with Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD and its production partner FAW.

The 2024 Toyota bZ3 is offered for sale in China at the same price as the 2023 version (169,800 yuan = ~ $23,650). The vehicle comes with minor physical updates other than new interior trim colors, renewed door trim, and armrest designs.

The bZ3, whose old version was recalled due to two problems, one with the door lock mechanism and the other with the battery management system, promises to offer a smoother experience in the new model.

The electric sedan can cover 517 km on a single charge in standard range according to Chinese standards. It reaches 616 km in long range. It must be said that the long-range bZ3 is quite competitive with its price tag of $26,700.

Toyota has managed to sell more than 23,000 units of the bZ3. The company started producing the vehicle in March 2023. Corolla’s electric counterpart could be rolled out outside China this year as a joint Toyota-BYD project.
