Hyundai Ioniq Electric is a mid-range electric sedan first introduced in 2016 to the US, South Korea, and some other markets. In the 2020, it has got an upgraded battery pack, the old Ioniq Electric had a 28 kWh battery, the new version comes with a 38.3 kWh battery. It also got a more efficient and more powerful electric motor that produces 134 HP and 295 Nm torque.
Korean electric sedan can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.7 seconds, nothing special about its performance. It is currently being built in South Korea, and Malaysia. United States is the biggest market Ioniq Electric made available. Pricing starts at $33,245 for the base model Ioniq Electric SE. High trim version which is called Ioniq Electric Limited comes with wireless charging pad for smartphones, blind-spot collision warning, and LED headlights priced at $38,815.
In Europe, Ioniq Electric costs a little bit more around €35,000. Hyundai’s not too cheap electric sedan will probably discontinued in the near future, as the next generation Ioniq sub-brand vehicles coming to the market like Hyundai Ioniq 5.
<h2>Performance</h2>
Ioniq Electric can produce 134 horsepower and 295 Nm torque with its single electric motor in the front. Acceleration performance from 0 to 100 km/h is 9.7 seconds and top speed limited to 165 kilometers per hour.
<h2>Design and Features</h2>
Newest Ioniq Electric model has a different front grille design compared to former Ioniqs. Unlike the smooth surface in the old car, new Ioniq Electric comes with a textured nose and two air vents that can automatically be opened and closed. When the battery heats up, these two air vents will open up to allow some extra air inside for cooling.
Hyundai uses a 10.25-inch infotainment display, as expected responds are a little bit laggy but it supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for better user experience. You can also connect two smartphones thanks to the Twin Bluetooth feature.
Ioniq Electric’s highest trim will get heated and also cooled seats. Space on the back seats is not great though, as Ioniq Electric is not a car that purely designed battery powered drivetrain on mind.
Ioniq Electric equipped with radar cruise control will be able to increase and decrease regenerative braking depending on the traffic, this feature will add a couple of miles to the range and improve the overall efficiency.
<h2>Range and Charging</h2>
Mid-range sedan comes with a 38.3 kWh battery capacity, enough for a range of 273 kilometers according to the EPA. WLTP range estimate is around 311 km. It supports 100 kW DC rapid charging, 10 percent to 80 percent of charge in 54 minutes. Fully charging the vehicle with a 7.4 kW AC plug takes 6 hours.

The Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD has opened orders for the Seal U model. For the 2024 model year, there is a significant reduction in prices, almost $3,000.
Having surpassed the 800,000 sales mark in three years, the Seal U will initially come to our country only with the plug-in hybrid version. This motor option stands out with a starting price of $18,000.

Regarding the engine, the company claims a 50% increase in efficiency compared to the first-generation electric Audis and states that it can produce more power with smaller motors by increasing power density by 62%. It should be noted that the Q6 e-tron uses an asynchronous ASM motor at the front and a permanent magnet synchronous PSM motor at the rear, differentiating it from the electric #Macan.

Even though its platform has not changed, it is certain that the new Taycan is much better than the old one in almost every aspect. While the Turbo S version previously completed the 0-100 km/h acceleration in 2.8 seconds, this time decreases to 2.4 seconds in the renewed Taycan.
The 2024 Porsche Taycan can reach 952 horsepower thanks to the new rear engine. It can reflect this performance on the road for a much longer time with its new generation heat pump thermal management system and inverter. The sports vehicle with 800-volt electric architecture can also charge for five minutes at speeds above 320 kW.
The German manufacturer states that the old generation Taycan was charged from 10% to 80% in approximately 37 minutes at 15 degrees, and that this decreased to 18 minutes with the new Taycan.
The new Taycan, whose small battery option increases from 79 kWh to 89 kWh, and whose Peformance Battery Plus option increases its capacity from 93 to 105 kWh, will hit the roads in Turkey in the spring, simultaneously Europe and the world.
With all these innovations, the starting price increases from 93,000 euros to 105,530 euros. Customers who want to buy the Taycan with 952 HP and a large battery have to pay 217,000 euros.

At a press event in China, Chery announced how its upcoming electric sedan, the Sterra ES, has reached a range of 905 kilometers (CLTC).
The electric Chery, which comes with a new generation &#8216;Shenxing&#8217; battery manufactured by CATL, can offer a range of over 900 km according to Chinese standards with a 100 kWh capacity LFP solution. For Europe, this range is ~800 km.
First of all, Chery mentioned the aerodynamic design of the Sterra ES, stating that this sedan developed on the E0X platform is both aerodynamic and has the largest interior volume and trunk in its class. The vehicle even surpasses the Mercedes EQS, which comes with a drag coefficient of 0.209 Cd.

Step 1. Make sure your home Wi-Fi network is in the range of your Tesla. For instance, park closer to your home or where your network adapter is located.

The introduction of a 600 kW mid-race charging session has been postponed until next year in the electric open-wheel racing championship known as Formula E. This year, the series had intended to feature a brief charging pit stop during races, however, issues with the supply chain have prevented this from happening.
This year, Formula E unveiled a new, quicker &#8220;Gen3&#8221; car that is lighter and more potent than the vehicle from the previous year. The new vehicle has a large DC charge capacity, which not only opens up the possibility of mid-race recharge but also helps to enable better regenerative braking.
<h2>GEN3 Models Will Change The Game For Formula E</h2>
This year, the series is expected to include mid-race charging, with each race requiring one &#8220;pit stop&#8221; for a charge that would last around 30 seconds. Considering how quickly EVs charge, 30 seconds may not seem like much time, but every second counts because Gen3 cars charge at such a fast pace.
With a charge rate of 600 kW, a 30-second charge may provide around 5 kWh of energy, about 1/8th the size of the 39 kWh battery pack in the Gen3 model. In just 30 seconds, vehicles can charge more than 10%.
According to Formula E, the technology for these chargers is fully developed, but supply channels for the ABB charging unit that competitors would utilize have proved problematic.
As a result, the original schedule to introduce charging at the start of this season was delayed until midway through. It now appears as if the chargers would only be available for the final one or two race weekends of the year.
Consequently, the plans to introduce that point turn into a question of justice because, in a racing season that is already close, implementing a modification at the very end of the campaign might ultimately decide the title.
Some teams opposed that, saying that the regulations shouldn&#8217;t alter in the middle of the season and should remain the same the entire time. Porsche has specifically opposed the rule change, despite presently leading both the teams&#8217; and drivers&#8217; championships.
Instead, the series now plans on introducing charging from the start of the 2024 season. It appears optimistic that supply difficulties will be resolved by then and that racing teams would be more accepting of a full-season shift.

The 2024 Kona Electric has finally received its initial engine specs and equipment specifics from the manufacturer. Hyundai released a sneak peek at the 2024 Kona family&#8217;s striking design in December 2022, and in January 2023. The company released details on the subcompact crossover&#8217;s gasoline and hybrid engine specifications. Two battery packs—Standard and Long Range—are available for the second-generation Hyundai Kona Electric.
The 48.4 kWh battery pack in the Standard model enables a WLTP-estimated range of 342 kilometers/212 miles, while the 65.4 kWh battery in the Long Range model enables a WLTP-estimated range of 490 kilometers/304 miles.
Both models include an electric motor located up front with an output of 114.6 kW/ 154 hp for the Standard model and 160 kW/214 hp for the Long Range. The maximum torque in both cases is 188 pound-feet/255 newton-meters.
Hyundai claims that the larger battery can be charged from 0-80 % with the fast charger in around 41 minutes. Yet it fails to specify the highest charging speed that the 2024 Kona Electric may handle.
The press release also reveals that the electric crossover has battery preconditioning. This ensures safe charging and range performance over the winter. In addition, it incorporates a heated charging door that is operable in as little as -22° F/-30° C of heat.

The Tesla logo will appear on the touchscreen after a few seconds. It&#8217;ll take around 30 seconds for your Tesla Model 3/Y&#8217;s main screen to restart.
By following these steps, you will only restart your Tesla&#8217;s touchscreen. It doesn&#8217;t power your vehicle&#8217;s whole system off and on. Earlier reports show that some Tesla drive unit gearboxes accumulated metal particles that caused malfunction. An oil filter was placed onto newer versions of the motor. Some say you will never need an oil change with a Tesla, but the fact that there is a filter for the oil and a filling hole, it&#8217;s best for us to be prepared.

If your vehicle is a 2021 or newer Model S/X, or a Model 3/Y, your electric motor&#8217;s lubricant will last longer than 100,000 miles, because Tesla puts an oil filter into its newer drive units to maintain lubricant&#8217;s quality for hundreds of thousands of miles. Replacing the filter will cost $25-40, whereas changing the transmission oil will set you back around $150-200.

Regenerative braking technology is a bliss for the efficiency of <a href="https://www.licarco.com/cars">all-electric vehicles</a>. But it takes time to get used to this helpful feature. Sometimes it gets annoying or makes no sense on some occasions. There is an option to turn it off, but things get complicated with <a href="https://www.licarco.com/news/how-many-tesla-cars-have-been-sold">Tesla vehicles</a>. Let us explain.
If you want to turn off regenerative braking on your Tesla, you probably won&#8217;t find any disabling option in the menu. Because turning off regenerative braking is not possible on a Tesla. It is also impossible to adjust the regen on Tesla vehicles built since Q2 2020. Tesla Model S/3/X/Y vehicles built before that date can still be able to offer adjustments. You just need to navigate through the main screen and go to Driving, then change the &#8216;Regenerative Braking&#8217; to &#8216;Low&#8217; for reducing the level of regenerative braking.
Newer Tesla vehicles come with standard level regen as default. There is no &#8216;Regenerative Braking&#8217; adjustment option anymore. So, why wouldn&#8217;t Tesla allow its drivers to adjust regenerative braking? The main reason is that the vehicle range is heavily affected by not being able to recuperate the energy you otherwise lost to heat, etc by pressing the brake pedal. Other automakers agree with Tesla as well. According to <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://electrek.co/2018/08/08/audi-e-tron-quattro-electric-suv-range-regen-braking/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Audi</a>, regenerative braking can extend the range by up to 30% on average. Soon, every new electric vehicle on the market will probably remove the option to adjust regenerative braking for the sake of efficiency.

If you drive a Tesla vehicle built before Q2 2022, your car&#8217;s main screen comes with an option to adjust regenerative braking. You just need to go to settings, then select the &#8216;Driving&#8217; menu from the left and change the &#8216;Regenerative Braking&#8217; option to &#8216;Low&#8217; for partially turning off the regen.
You won&#8217;t be able to turn off this feature. There is, however, a way to heavily limit the effects of regen braking. Here&#8217;s how:
<h3>Why Does Regenerative Braking Limited on My Tesla?</h3>
If you live in a cold area or your battery is fully charged, your Tesla vehicle would warn you about the regenerative braking is being limited. That&#8217;s because the battery is unable to receive the energy from the regen system and the battery&#8217;s management system temporarily turns off the regenerative braking feature. It might take up to half an hour for your vehicle to recover from that. In order to reduce the negative effects of this limitation, you can enable an extra feature for automatically applying the brake pedals instead of regen braking. Just go to Controls &gt; Pedals &amp; Steering, then turn on the &#8216;Apply Brakes When Regenerative Braking is Limited&#8217; option.
<h3>Does Regenerative Braking Work on Icy/Snowy Roads?</h3>
Not being able to turn off regenerative braking might sound dangerous on icy/snowy roads, but Tesla has a solution for this. In 2022, Tesla adjusted the traction control software of its vehicles and added a hidden snow mode. Its main function is to better handle regen braking adjustments on icy roads and snow. How to Turn Off Regenerative Braking on a Tesla?

The idea of owning an electric car has become more and more popular with the increasing fuel prices. Electric vehicles, which provide the opportunity to travel at a much lower cost than an ordinary gasoline/diesel vehicle thanks to the possibility of charging at home, have now been accepted as an important alternative in many countries. An electric vehicle owner only needs electricity as a fuel instead of gasoline and diesel. The fact that the kWh unit price of electricity is 13.73 cents, according to the March 2022 electricity tariff, shows that the fuel/energy costs of electric vehicles are much lower than gasoline/diesel cars.
An average electric vehicle consumes between 15 and 23 kWh of electricity per 62 miles/100 kilometers. Efficiency in ordinary gasoline and diesel engines varies between 20% and 40%. In other words, almost only 1/5 of the fuel can affect the movement of the vehicle. However, the efficiency rate rises above 90% in electric motors.
The highly efficient electric motors need several times less energy for the same exertion compared to the equivalent gasoline/diesel vehicles. Although the efficiency of the earlier EV models decreased significantly at higher speeds, this problem was mostly eliminated by the newly developed electric motors, inverters, and multi-speed electric vehicle transmissions.
<h3 style="font-size: 2em;">3. Cheaper Maintenance</h3>
Gasoline/diesel vehicles have hundreds of moving parts. In a typical electric car, the number of moving parts is no more than a few. For this reason, the routine maintenance cost of the electric vehicle is also very low.
There is no engine lubricant, oil filters, fuel strainers, timing belt, circulation pump, engine water, or similar elements that need to be changed on regular basis in electric vehicles.

Regenerative braking, which is first used in hybrid vehicles, and later in electric vehicles, means that the electric motor is used for braking by operating in reverse. There are two important advantages of this feature. Firstly; with regenerative braking, the energy that is normally lost by turning into heat is converted into electrical energy by the reverse operation of the electric motor, and as a result battery can be charged. Latter; prolonging the service life of brake discs and brake pads utilizing regenerative braking. According to the same research, this rate is 1.5% in gasoline/diesel vehicles while the risk of fire is much higher at 3.4% in hybrid vehicles.
Another factor that makes electric vehicles safe is the shift of the center of gravity towards the lower and middle parts of the vehicle by the dint of the battery pack placed on the floor and the absence of a heavy engine at the front. In this way, the driving safety is increased and the electric vehicle provides better road handling.
<h3 style="font-size: 2em;">8. Longer Lasting</h3>
The number of moving parts in an electric vehicle is quite low as mentioned in the third advantage. Moreover, electric cars operate at much lower temperatures unlike gasoline/diesel vehicles, whose operating temperature reaches up to 220 Celcius degrees. Thus, mechanical wear is minimized.
