EV9&#8217;s ground clearance is up to 198 millimiters (7.8-inch). This family-size SUV can tow 5,000 lbs, or around 2,270 kilograms.

Audi, using NCM811 cathode cells produced by Chinese company Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) in Germany, states that the larger cell form facilitates battery production. Additionally, it emphasizes that the newly developed smart thermal management system enhances battery life by continuously conditioning the battery and reduces charging time.
Regarding the engine, the company claims a 50% increase in efficiency compared to the first-generation electric Audis and states that it can produce more power with smaller motors by increasing power density by 62%. It should be noted that the Q6 e-tron uses an asynchronous ASM motor at the front and a permanent magnet synchronous PSM motor at the rear, differentiating it from the electric #Macan.

🔋The 2024 BYD Han boasts a range of 506 km (CLTC), which extends up to 715 kilometers in the version with an 85.44 kWh battery. During today&#8217;s event, it was emphasized for the first time that the car features a silicon carbide chip inverter and an 800V architecture. However, the charging speed of the largest battery being limited to 155 kW indicates that the entire high-voltage system is not yet ready for 800V.
🚗In the performance version of the car, a dual-motor powertrain capable of producing 517 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque is used, achieving a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.9 seconds.

Kia is adding a new player to the competition in the field of electric vehicles!
The Kia EV2, which will be launched in 2026 at a price of £25,000 (around $30,000), was confirmed at the company&#8217;s first-ever electric vehicle event in South Korea.
While Kia&#8217;s electric vehicle day events focused on the production of the EV5, EV4, and EV3 concepts, the company confirmed that an even smaller electric vehicle model dubbed the EV2, is on the way, as expected. According to Kia CEO Ho Sung Song, the EV2 will be an important part of the company&#8217;s global goal of selling 1.6 million vehicles per year by 2030.

Song declined to give any specific details about the EV2 at the event but said it was a &#8220;very important&#8221; vehicle for Europe and emerging markets. Kia&#8217;s CEO noted that the EV2 is expected to be the company&#8217;s lowest-priced electric vehicle and that the vehicles will be produced at the company&#8217;s plant in Slovakia.
Kia, which is trying to localize electric vehicle production in the United States, said all of its future electric vehicles will be built on the E-GMP platform, which underpins the Kia EV6 and EV9, as well as vehicles from sister companies such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6 and Genesis GV60.

On Tuesday, Kia unveiled photos of the 2024 Kia EV9 three-row electric crossover SUV. The automaker has laid the groundwork for a new flagship that will be based on the idea that debuted two years ago at the 2021 Los Angeles Motor Show.
The tall, boxy crossover SUV updates the attractive design of the Kia Telluride. With a novel twist on the brand&#8217;s dogbone grille, the vertical ends defy aerodynamics. Daytime running lights strike the fender like a lightning bolt from the bumper.
The LED headlights are all new, consisting of two stacks of little cubes, similar to an ice tray of light. Out back, the stepped pattern is repeated with taillights that ascend up the tailgate to the integrated rear roof spoiler. Kia foregoes the light bars that brace the front and rear of many other EVs, particularly in the premium class.
Large wheels with a noticeably square form are housed in boxy wheel arches. It has a discordant yet appealing design, although Kia has not revealed wheel sizes, standard features, or any other details. The roof is worn like a cap by the squat greenhouse, and a kink at the quarter window cuts a sharp line up to the roof spoiler. It appears to be both sporty and truck-like, implying some off-road capability.

The cabin is even more spacious than in any other Kia car and most other production EVs. The cockpit is familiar, with two 12.3-inch panels separated by a 5.0-inch monitor behind a single pane of glass. The blocky dash, like the exterior, spreads horizontally, but instead of the haptic panel seen on contemporary Kia vehicles, Kia placed certain crucial climate control controls behind the vents. A shift lever is attached to the steering column, although the open top half of the steering wheel resembles, but differs from, the Kia EV6.
The 2024 Kia EV9 is most compelling from the dashboard back, in six- or seven-seat configurations. The floor is left open by a floating center console, which looks to feature many storage places. The front and second-row seats recline, allowing users to &#8220;relax and rest while the EV is charging,&#8221; according to Kia.
<h2>2024 Kia EV9&#8217;s Technical Specifications Comes Very Soon</h2>
EV9 will be the biggest car yet developed and constructed on the E-GMP dedicated electric-vehicle platform. The EV9 &#8220;will become the brand&#8217;s flagship vehicle and will redefine the big electric SUV category,&#8221; according to Kia, in 2022. The EV9 looks to have the potential to propel Kia into the realm of luxury.

For the time being, there are just a handful of three-row electric SUVs fetching premium pricing. The Tesla Model X was the first three-row electric vehicle to hit the market, and it recently received a $10,000 price decrease, lowering the starting price to $101,380 for five seats; an extra row costs $3,500 more. That&#8217;s a little less than the 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV, which starts at $105,000 and goes up to more than $130,000. The 2023 Rivian R1S starts at about $80,000 in price.
The 2024 Kia EV9&#8217;s technical specifications are due around the end of March. The price will be announced closer to the vehicle&#8217;s on-sale date later this year.

Get a Closer Look at Kia’s First Electric SUV, The EV9

Hyundai Motor has validated its intention to construct a new assembly plant but has declined to provide specifics about its location. &#8220;We are excited to announce a new EV plant plan in the United States soon, but we do not have details to share at this time,&#8221; Hyundai told in the statement.
According to Reuters, the new Georgia factory will produce both the Hyundai Ioniq 7 and the Kia EV9 — 7-passenger battery-electric SUVs specifically designed for American drivers. Each is essentially a battery-powered variant of the Hyundai Telluride and Kia Palisade, the company&#8217;s largest vehicles. The ultimate official statement is likely to come later in the month, once President Biden travels to South Korea.
Hyundai announced recently a $300 million investment to transform its Alabama production plant to produce the battery-electric Genesis GV 70 and a hybrid Santa Fe. The GV 70 will indeed be Hyundai&#8217;s first electric vehicle produced in the United States. Kia has stated that it will have 14 electric vehicles by 2027. Hyundai has stated that it will launch 17 vehicles by 2030, including six for its luxury Genesis brand.
<h2>Free Land, Grants, Tax Credits, And Workforce</h2>

SK Innovation, a battery supplier to Hyundai and Kia, already operates two battery factories in Georgia. One of them manufactures batteries for Volkswagen and began production earlier this year. Another one will provide batteries to Ford, which is constructing a new EV manufacturing facility in Tennessee. According to Reuters, the Ioniq 7&#8217;s battery will be supplied by SK On, a division of SK Innovation.
The AJC says, “The incentive package that state officials would offer to land the Hyundai Motor expansion is not immediately clear, but it could rival the record-breaking $1.5 billion bounties of perks negotiated for Rivian, which includes free land, grants, tax credits, a workforce training center, and infrastructure improvements.”
Georgia is planning to commit public resources to two major automotive manufacturers — Rivian and Hyundai/Kia — in the hopes of creating thousands of manufacturing jobs, and transforming rural areas of the state.
The arrangement with Georgia and Hyundai Motor is still in the works. Governor Kemp is now being called into question by the ex-senator David Perdue. According to former House Speaker Tip O&#8217;Neill, &#8220;all politics is local.&#8221; Rural voters who want to keep their way of life may have the final say on whether a new Hyundai and Kia factory is built.
