Regarding the engine, the company claims a 50% increase in efficiency compared to the first-generation electric Audis and states that it can produce more power with smaller motors by increasing power density by 62%. It should be noted that the Q6 e-tron uses an asynchronous ASM motor at the front and a permanent magnet synchronous PSM motor at the rear, differentiating it from the electric #Macan.

Giga Shanghai is Tesla&#8217;s export hub and has the highest production output among other gigafactories. Therefore, Shanghai factory produces more than half of the Model Ys and Model 3s built in the world. That will change when the new Texas and Berlin factories ramp up their Model Y production. According to the latest info, Giga Berlin will reach a 5,000 Model Ys per week production rate in Q1 2023. Texas facility&#8217;s output will be lower than Berlin because of the slower than expected implementation of the <a href="https://www.licarco.com/news/what-is-structural-battery-ctc-ctb-ev-battery-packs-explained">structural battery pack</a> that uses Tesla&#8217;s proprietary cell design 4680.

According to rumors, the Shanghai factory would get a chance in 2023 to produce Chinese versions of the Model S and Model X to avoid hefty import taxes. Tesla China will also develop and produce a budget-friendly Tesla model at the expansion site right next to Giga Shanghai.
Cybertruck is the most desired future model that Tesla fans eagerly waiting for. It will be made in Giga Texas, where a special production line is designed specifically for the famous electric pickup truck. The unique design and the platform of the Cybertruck will allow Tesla to reduce production costs a lot. That will help Texas-based company lower its starting price to keep up with <a href="https://www.licarco.com/ford-f-150-lightning-pro-extended-range">Ford&#8217;s F-150 Lightning</a> and the Amazon-backed Rivian&#8217;s promising offering <a href="https://www.licarco.com/rivian-r1t">R1T</a>.
Tesla&#8217;s second-generation Roadster is also due production in Texas. Tesla is committed to making Austin, Texas its largest manufacturing hub. There is a 4680 battery cell production line in Texas as well. Both the Cybertruck and Roadster will only be possible with the new structural battery pack and Tesla&#8217;s bigger cell design.

Last night, Elon Musk took the stage at Tesla&#8217;s 2022 Annual Meeting of Stockholders. He officially announced that <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.licarco.com/cars?filter=tesla" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tesla</a> has now produced more than 3 million electric vehicles. It was an impressive milestone for a company that struggled to reincarnate the EV industry in its early days. Elon indicated on many occasions that Tesla, for various reasons, had almost bankrupt multiple times throughout its journey.

In recent years, Tesla has made tremendous improvements in the mass production of pure electric vehicles. The Texas-based company built almost half of its total production in the last one and a half year. <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.licarco.com/news/how-many-tesla-gigafactories" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Giga Shanghai</a> is the clear champion here, as the Chinese factory doubled Tesla&#8217;s production pace in less than a year. According to the latest information disclosed by the EV-maker, the Shanghai factory&#8217;s annual production capacity is around 750K. Its daily production rate will be ramped up to 2,600 vehicles before the year ends, bringing annual capacity to almost 1 million EVs.
<h2>Tesla will build 10-12 Gigafactories in total</h2>

Tesla still has a long way forward to be the production giant Elon wants it to become. There are four EV manufacturing plants that Tesla operates today; Fremont, Giga Shanghai, Giga Berlin, and Giga Texas. The automaker will build 6 to 8 more gigafactories in the future. Each factory will be designed to handle at least 1 to 2 million EV production annually. There is no certain timetable for the future factories but Elon heavily hinted that Tesla is looking for a third EV factory location in the North America region, including Canada, Mexico, and United States.
From what we understand, Tesla is certainly planning on increasing its annual output to almost 20 million vehicles in the next decade. This figure will make Tesla become the world&#8217;s biggest automaker. The company will not only produce passenger cars but also electric trucks, pick-ups, and MPVs as well.

Tesla has been preparing for the start of production at its newest factory in the US. The automaker recently moved its headquarters from Fremont, California to Gigafactory Texas, as the factory site is getting crowded with more Tesla employees every day. Elon Musk just announced on his Twitter account that Tesla&#8217;s Gigafactory Texas investment will be more than $10 billion over time, generating 20,000 direct and +100,000 indirect jobs in the US.
<a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.licarco.com/cars/2021-tesla-model-y-performance/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tesla Model Y</a> production is expected to be started in Texas before the end of the year. Texas-based EV maker probably spent more than $1 billion for the first phase of this facility as of today, but its investment for Gigafactory Texas is not completed yet. Elon Musk confirmed that their second US EV factory will need more than $10 billion investment to be finished. The next phase of the factory probably includes the production of the famous electric pickup <a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.licarco.com/cars/tesla-cybertruck-dual-motor/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Cybertruck</a>.
Texas facility will double Tesla&#8217;s US production output when it is fully ramped up. Once the Cybertruck and Tesla&#8217;s first heavy-duty electric vehicle Tesla Semi production phases are complete, the overall production output of the Giga Texas will reach more than 500,000 vehicles per year. 
Gigafactory Texas will solve American carmaker&#8217;s &#8216;delivery problem&#8217; once starts operating. Right now, a new customer ready to pay for a brand-new Tesla EV needs to wait almost a year to take delivery of its order. The Model Y is the most popular Tesla in the market, Texas facility will surely help Tesla clear up its tight delivery schedule.
