The Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD has opened orders for the Seal U model. For the 2024 model year, there is a significant reduction in prices, almost $3,000.
Having surpassed the 800,000 sales mark in three years, the Seal U will initially come to our country only with the plug-in hybrid version. This motor option stands out with a starting price of $18,000.

⚡ Chinese ZEEKR极氪 announced a major update to its first car, the 001, by replacing over 2,000 components.
🔋 The 2024 Zeekr 001, available with 95 and 100 kWh battery options, now features an 800V architecture. This not only boosts charging speeds up to 350 kW but also significantly enhances the vehicle’s efficiency.
🟢 Transitioning to the new-generation thermal management system called PTM 2.0 along with the battery, the 4.9-meter electric crossover can operate efficiently in both high and low temperatures.
💨 The new 001 offers a single-motor option producing 310 kW (422 HP) and a dual-motor option capable of generating 560 kW (762 HP). Hence, it’s expected to have a starting price around $40,000.
🚗 Equipped with LiDAR sensor-based autonomous driving mode, a new infotainment system powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chipset, and numerous interior design changes, the exact price of the 001 will be revealed upon its release on February 27th.

⚡#BYD has revamped its popular electric sedan Han, which sold 220,000 units last year. The 2024 version of the car has been launched in China with a starting price of $25,000.
🟢The 5-meter sedan features a base model with a 150 kW motor, a 60.48 kWh LFP battery, and 110 kW DC charging support. All models come equipped with the new Level 2+ intelligent driving system, DiPilot 100, which has been in development for over 1,000 days. Additionally, the new generation intelligent suspension system, DiSus-C, has been integrated into the 2024 model to enhance Han&#8217;s comfort.

🔋The 2024 BYD Han boasts a range of 506 km (CLTC), which extends up to 715 kilometers in the version with an 85.44 kWh battery. During today&#8217;s event, it was emphasized for the first time that the car features a silicon carbide chip inverter and an 800V architecture. However, the charging speed of the largest battery being limited to 155 kW indicates that the entire high-voltage system is not yet ready for 800V.
🚗In the performance version of the car, a dual-motor powertrain capable of producing 517 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque is used, achieving a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 3.9 seconds.

#Audi has introduced its first car developed on the all-electric PPE platform, the Q6 e-tron.
The Q6 e-tron, which is priced 10% cheaper than its sibling model, the Porsche Macan EV, developed on the same platform, stands out with both more compact and lightweight electric motors and a large prismatic cell-based massive battery.

Audi, using NCM811 cathode cells produced by Chinese company Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) in Germany, states that the larger cell form facilitates battery production. Additionally, it emphasizes that the newly developed smart thermal management system enhances battery life by continuously conditioning the battery and reduces charging time.
Regarding the engine, the company claims a 50% increase in efficiency compared to the first-generation electric Audis and states that it can produce more power with smaller motors by increasing power density by 62%. It should be noted that the Q6 e-tron uses an asynchronous ASM motor at the front and a permanent magnet synchronous PSM motor at the rear, differentiating it from the electric #Macan.

Audi Q6 E-Tron | 255 KM Range with a 10-Minute Charge!

1.4 billion dollars investment from CATL, the world&#8217;s largest battery manufacturer, to Bolivia. The United States has previously been accused of carrying out a coup against the nationalization of lithium reserves in the country. 
Bolivia, famous for its salt flats, received its first large lithium production investment as a result of years of work. Chinese battery giant CATL announced that it will build lithium production facilities with an investment of 1.4 billion dollars in the first stage, with the agreement it signed a few weeks ago.
Within the scope of the cooperation, CATL will establish two lithium carbonate production facilities in the salt flats of Uyuni and Oruro, and plans to increase its investment up to $9.9 billion by 2028. Construction and infrastructure activities are expected to begin next month. When the facilities reach full capacity, the company will be able to produce 25,000 tons of battery-quality lithium carbonate each year.
According to the estimates of the Bolivian government, the salt flats (dried salt lakes) in the country constitute 70% of the world&#8217;s reserves with 100 million tons. According to research in the USA, the reserves are around 21 million tons. But even this value is enough to make Bolivia the richest in the world in terms of lithium.

Bolivia, which has made great efforts to commercialize its lithium reserves, has experienced major crises in the past years as it moves towards a happy ending. Chief among them is the 2019 coup d&#8217;etat of former President Morales, who nationalized the reserves. The world community heard about this coup, which was alleged to be the hand of the USA, with the support message of Elon Musk.
The agreement signed with CATL did not come as a surprise. Chinese companies have been working on the salt flats in Bolivia for nearly 10 years. It even came to the agenda that Tesla was on the verge of a five-year deal with a Chinese lithium producer before the reserves were nationalized.
